Abstract: Disclosed is a novel air drying polymer, such as an alkyd, built up from alternating air drying units and spacer units and having a general structure of R1—R3—(R2—R3); —R1 wherein each R1 and R2 independently is an air drying ester or polyester unit, each R3 independently is an ester, polyester, ether, polyether, urethane or polyurethane spacer unit which by ester and/or urethane bonding links said air drying units, n is an integer and at least 1 and wherein each R1 and R2 independently may be the same or different units.

Abstract: A process for production of an allyl and/or methallyl ether of a tri or polyhydric alcohol is disclosed. Said process comprises (i) subjected at least one cyclic formal of a tri or polyhydric alcohol to allylation, (ii) subjecting obtained allyl and/or methallyl ether of said cyclic formal to reaction with at least one alcohol and optionally an intermediate and/or a final purification step. In further aspects the present invention refers to an allyl and/or methallyl ether yielded in said process.

Abstract: Disclosed is a novel ?-hydroxylamide of general formula wherein R1 is a linear or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group optionally comprising one or more ether and/or ester units, such as a group derived from at least one hydroxyfunctional compound, R2 is a linear or branched aliphatic and/or aromatic hydrocarbon group, such as a group derived from at least one carboxyfunctional compound or at least one anhydride halide or ester of a carboxyfunctional compound, R3 is N-alkyl or N-cycloalkyl for instance derived from at least one alkanolamine, and wherein m is an integer and at least 1 and n is an integer and at least 2, In a further aspect the present invention refers to a process for synthesis of said ?-hydroxyamide. The process comprises the Steps of (i) subjecting a di, tri or polyalcohol to alcoholysis with at least one di, tri or polyalkyl ester of a di, tri or polyfunctional carboxylic acid and (ii) subjecting obtained reaction product to aminolysis with at least one alkanolamine.
