  • Publication number: 20220146621
Abstract: A base station for measurements emits measurement radiation into a beam plane with a wobbling motion of the beam plane, such that a position of a normal of the beam plane is changed in a predefined manner such that orientations of the normal occur repeatedly, for example with a cyclic repetition of the beam plane. A measuring assembly for such a base station can be provided with at least one associated remote terminal. A method for guiding a mobile object, in particular a vehicle, uses a base station and at least one active remote terminal permanently associated therewith, which form a transceiver measuring assembly.

  • Patent number: 10228247
Abstract: The invention relates to a receiving unit for light-based measurements/surveying using an analog-to-digital converter for the clocked analog-to-digital conversion of light detection signals and a clocking means for clocking the analog-to-digital converter. According to the invention, the clocking means has, for receiving modulated light signals, a phase-locked loop having an input for light detection signals modulated according to the light signal modulation and an output for outputting a frequency multiple of the detected modulation frequency for the analog-to-digital converter clocking.

  • Patent number: 7838813
Abstract: An improved laser light beam receiver rejects unwanted pulses of optical energy, such as strobe lights or other flashes of light, that can occur on a jobsite. The receiver analyzes a light beam reception by using a photosensitive light beam detector arrangement and a separate photoelectric detector serving as an interference signal detector. This additional detector is not easily able to detect the light beams needed in normal operation. On the other hand, the additional detector does detect mostly all interfering light flashes—caused by flash lamps and other similar devices—whose threshold limit is either at the same level or below that of the light beam detector arrangement. An evaluating circuit such as a microcontroller correlates the time of reception of the light beam detector arrangement and the interference signal detector in order to discard the result if the times of reception correspond to a major extent.

  • Patent number: 7724352
Abstract: A light beam receiver includes a plurality of light beam detector elements, a plurality of integrator circuits that receive signals from the light beam detector elements, and a signal integral limiting integration time controller that is in communication with at least two of the integrator circuits so that an analysis of the light beam reception is determined. One embodiment provides a self-calibration function, using a plurality of light beam detector elements that generate output signals when receiving a light beam upon the light beam detector elements, an evaluation/control circuit that receives the output signals and is configured to substantially determine a position where the light beam impacts on the light beam detector elements, and at least one calibration light source that emits at least one light pulse that is coupled to the light beam detector elements. The light beam receiver performs a self-calibration function using the calibration light source.
