  • Patent number: 11913507
Abstract: A disc brake for utility vehicles includes a brake disc, a first brake lining on a first side of the brake disc and a second brake lining on a second side of the brake disc opposite the first side. A spreading device is also provided which generates a force that moves the first and the second brake lining away from one another.

  • Publication number: 20230067490
Abstract: A disc brake (1) includes a brake disc (2), a brake caliper (3), two brake pads (4, 4?) that are movably guided on the brake caliper (3), a retainer spring (6, 6?) on each brake pad (4, 4?), a retainer bracket (8-8IV) for pre-tensioning the retainer springs (6, 6?) in relation to the respective brake pad (4, 4?), and an expander spring (10, 10?) that applies an expansion force between the brake pads (4, 4?) and diverging the brake pads (4, 4?). The ends of the expander spring (10, 10?) may bear in each case directly on one of the retainer springs (6, 6?). The disc brake (1) may have a loss prevention device that is operatively connected to the expander spring (10, 10?) such that the expander spring (10, 10?), in the absence of the expansion force, is held on the disc brake (1).

  • Patent number: 11447116
Abstract: A method (200) for detecting the clearance of a brake (100) of a motor vehicle, in particular a utility motor vehicle, includes the following steps: reading measurement signals of a wear sensor (115) disposed on the brake (100), determining an output signal value that is representative of the non-actuated state of the brake from the measurement signals, determining an event signal value that is representative of the braking state of the brake from the measurement signals, and determining the clearance from the difference between the event signal value and the output signal value, wherein the measurement signals of the wear sensor are examined for the presence of a characteristic signal oscillation that arises as a result of bringing into contact the brake lining with the counterpart thereof that is to be braked. A controller (10) carries out the method on a brake (100).
