  • Patent number: 5069456
Abstract: A golf training apparatus has a frame and a golf club swing guide is formed as a partial circle of high density polyethylene pipe and is attached to the frame for guiding a person's backswing of a golf club. The golf swing training apparatus guides only the golfers backswing but forces the forward swing of the golfer to hit the ball under the guide member. The golf club swing guide is adjusted by sliding as center swing guide support member relative to a pair of side swing guide support members. The golf club swing guide is attached to frame and guides a person's backswing, along a partial circular pipe member having two ends and having a flexible support member connected between the end portions which support member is positioned to align a golfer's shoulders with a target. A second center swing guide support is provided to support an attachment which forms the upper half of a full circle guide when attached to the partial circle guide.

  • Patent number: 5048836
Abstract: An athletic swing practice apparatus has a lower back support belt which has flexible thigh straps which strap to a person's thighs and a flexible waist belt which attaches around a person's waist and a pair of flexible buttock support straps attached between the thigh straps and the hip belt. A pair of straps are attached to the lower back support belt and extend from the rear portion thereof around the front and each strap has a plurality of apertures for attaching a resilient cord thereto. Each resilient cord extends to a stationary member which can be a pole anchored in the earth which pole can have a plurality of apertures for attaching the resilient cord. A person can practice an athletic swing, such as a golf swing, while wearing the lower back support belt and having the straps attached with resilient cord to the stationary members to thereby apply a predetermined pressure to the person's lower torso during a practice swing and enhance the swing posture of the user.

  • Patent number: 5026065
Abstract: A golf training apparatus has a frame and a golf club swing guide attached to the frame for guiding a person's swing of a golf club. A simplified guide adjustment system allows for basic telescoping frame members to be used in the adjustment of the position of the first golf club swing guide as to both height and tilt of the guide. The frame and swing guides are made of a PVC (or polyethylene) pipe. Adjustments are made by telescoping the frame members and swing guide support members to the desired position and locking them in place. The frame has a single pair of vertical frame members attached to the base and open at the base for inserting over a pair of ground anchor posts to prevent movement of the golf training apparatus during practice swings because of it lightweight.

  • Patent number: 5024443
Abstract: An athletic swing practice apparatus combines arm swing control and upper body swing control in a single swing training system. A pair of flexible arm encircling straps are each shaped to encircle the upper arm of an athletic during a practice swing. An elastic strap extends from each of the pair of flexible arm encircling straps and each elastic strap has an elongated piece of hook and loop material attached thereto for attaching the straps together to form a single elastic strap adjustably connecting the pair of flexible arm encircling straps together by a predetermined distance. A fastener member, such as an aperture with a grommet, is attached to each of the flexible arm encircling straps and a pair of elastic cords has one cord attached to each flexible arm encircling strap through the fastening member.

  • Patent number: 4949974
Abstract: A golf training apparatus has a frame having a base for sitting on the ground and a golf club swing guide attached to the frame for guiding a person's swing of a golf club. A guide adjustment system allows for the adjustment of the position of the first golf club swing guide as to both height and tilt of the guide. The frame and swing guides may be made of a PVC (or polyethelene) pipe and may have special PVC attachments utilizing standard PVC couplings. Adjustment are made by telescoping the pipe to the desired position and locking them in place. The swing guide has an arcuate segment and a replaceable connecting segment connecting the ends of the arcuate segment so that the swing guide an be adjusted for size and shape from a complete circle to customized shape for the swing of a golfer. The frame may have a motor attached thereto and connected to a crank arm mechanism which is coupled to the swing guide for rapidly moving the swing guide during a practice swing.
