  • Patent number: 8376090
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention concerning operation of an elevator, a traveling mode of the elevator is prevented if it is established that an elevator load exceeds a limit value. During normal operation, the limit value is equal to a first limit value. If it is established that a special situation is present (e.g., an evacuation situation or a peak traffic situation) the system is switched over to a special situation mode. In the special situation mode, the limit value is equal to a second limit value, which is higher than the first limit value.

  • Patent number: 7980362
Abstract: Safety equipment for an elevator installation with an upper elevator car and a lower elevator car, which cars are both movable substantially independently along a vertical direction in a common elevator shaft of the elevator installation includes a first electro-optical detection system with a first light source in a lower region of the upper elevator car and with a first detector which comprises a light-sensitive first sensor region in an upper region of the lower elevator car. The first light source issues a focused first light beam at a first angle with respect to the vertical direction. The first angle is predetermined such that on approach of the upper and the lower elevator cars the first light beam is incident on the first sensor region and thus is detectable by the first detector. In this case, the first detector triggers a reaction.

  • Patent number: 7416057
Abstract: A method of controlling an elevator installation with several elevators, in which destination call inputs of passengers are input by destination call input apparatus and in which at least one traffic criterion, which characterizes a traffic intensity, of the elevator installation is measured by an elevator control, wherein the elevator control allocates cost-optimizing elevators to the destination call inputs. In order to obtain an energy saving without prejudicing the transport capacity of the elevator installation, the elevator control additionally allocates energy-optimizing elevators to the destination call inputs in dependence on the traffic criterion.

  • Patent number: 7387191
Abstract: A method of controlling an elevator installation having an elevator car transporting passengers between floors of a building inputs destinations of the passengers into a destination call control and books destination calls and determines an instantaneous load disposed in the elevator car with a load measuring device at a fixable point in time. In order to make uniform the waiting times of the passengers in the case of incorrect operation of the destination call control and to ensure, for all passengers, an optimized transport time with maximum transport capacity the method additionally compares the instantaneous load with a full load parameter and in the case of exceeding of the full load parameter activating a bypass function those floors for which destination calls are booked and which are passed during a half circuit of the fully loaded elevator car.

  • Publication number: 20080006485
Abstract: An elevator installation and a method of operating the elevator installation with a shaft, in which at least a first elevator car and second elevator car are separately movable upwardly and downwardly for serving destination calls includes a control device, which determines a suitable one of the elevator cars for serving the destination calls. The first elevator car is moved either synchronously in time with the second elevator car, or displaced in time relative to the second elevator car, in dependence on at least one operating parameter, but still within the time duration of a journey of the second elevator car.

  • Patent number: 7128190
Abstract: A method for controlling a zonally operated elevator installation, wherein on a changeover floor changing between zones is made possible, and wherein with a delivering elevator group and a collecting elevator group transportation to and from the changeover floor is realized, and wherein a trip destination is entered via a destination-call control by each passenger to be transported. An elevator installation for zonal operation in buildings with several elevators, wherein each elevator group contains at least one destination-call input device for registering the destination of a passenger. Each elevator is assigned to an elevator group, the building is divided into zones, and a changeover floor for changing between the elevator groups is arranged between the zones. The delivering elevator group and the collecting elevator group are combined into a multi-group which is controlled by a multi-group control.

  • Patent number: 7108106
Abstract: A device for controlling a elevator installation with multiple deck cars which are simultaneously accessible at a main stopping point by different main stopping floors includes a call registering device by which a passenger can input a destination floor. In order to enable a more rapid filling of the building, a conversion unit responds to the destination call travel orders already allocated to and/or demanded of the multiple car having the deck which is to be allocated to the passenger to minimize the number of stops of the car. An indicating device indicates to the passenger the allocated car deck and/or the main stopping floor thereof.

  • Patent number: 7025180
Abstract: A method of controlling an elevator installation having a plurality of cars in a building with floors subdivided into several zones wherein travel orders are allocated to the cars. There is no allocation to an elevator car, which has just been allocated a travel order out of or into one of the zones, of any travel order out of or into another of the zones. In the case of a call after a new travel order the number of free elevator cars is compared with the number of still unallocated or still unserved zones and the allocation of the new call and is carried out in dependence on the comparison result.
