    Abstract: A household appliance contains a DC power supply configured to provide a DC supply voltage between a first DC supply line and a second DC supply line from an external DC supply, which is external to the household appliance. Furthermore, the appliance contains an electrical component which is configured to be operated by the DC supply voltage. The appliance further contains at least one DC switching circuit having a semiconductor-based switching element which is configured to galvanically interrupt the first DC supply line or the second DC supply line in reaction to a control signal.
