The secondary housing includes a hinged lid that can be opened even when the secondary housing is within the housing retainer. A third housing built into the underside of the cell phone retaining case has a hinged lid allowing the outermost panel to open or close. The third housing has a triangular cross section. In a second embodiment the secondary housing is a removable cosmetic tray that is covered by a hinged cover plate.
