    Abstract: A method for controlling a position of a steering wheel of a vehicle includes obtaining vehicle path data indicating a path of the vehicle, obtaining road condition data for roadways along the path of the vehicle, determining, based on the road condition data, whether hazardous road conditions are present on the roadways along the path of the vehicle, determining a state of a driver of the vehicle, determining, based on at least one of the determination of whether the hazardous road conditions are present and the state of the driver, whether to provide an alert to the driver; and, in response a determination to provide the alert to the driver, adjusting at least one of a stow position of the steering wheel and a rake position of the steering wheel.
