  • Patent number: 10172598
Abstract: Various embodiments are described herein for a device and method for an ingestible medical device with a rotatable element. In some described embodiments, the ingestible medical device includes a storage sub-unit with multiple chambers each having an opening for collecting or dispensing substances from the GI tract. The device further comprises a chamber enclosure with an access port. One of the chamber enclosure and the storage sub-unit are rotatable to allow for aligning the access port with a chamber opening. The ingestible medical device includes a sensor for positioning the access port of the chamber enclosure or the storage sub-unit as one of these elements rotates.

  • Publication number: 20160379323
Abstract: A present risk aversion of a customer is determined. A temporal preference is detected using historical data related to the customer, the temporal preference showing a preference of current utility over a future utility of a product. Using the temporal preference and a negative transaction risk, a future risk aversion of the customer is projected at a future time. A pattern of offer acceptance by the customer is identified in the historical data. A value of an exogenous factor is determined on which a buying ability of the customer depends. The customer is classified in a cluster, where all customers in the cluster have the present risk aversion, the temporal preference, the negative transaction risk, the future risk aversion, and the value. An offer for a product is presented to the cluster, which satisfies the present risk aversion, and where a probability of acceptance of the offer exceeds a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20040253160
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of ameliorating atmospheric acidic pollutants that are generating in large quantities by industrial processing such as electricity producing power plants, metal ore smelting and others which release large quantities of sulfur and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. The method neutralizes atmospheric acidic pollutants by the dispersal of microscopic, preferably sub-microscopic, particles of finely divided or pulverized acid neutralizing material. The finely divided or pulverized acid neutralizing material is preferably a metal carbonate, metal oxide or a mixture thereof where the metal may be one or more of Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, B, Cr, Co, Cu, Mn, Mo, Ni, Na, K, Sn, V. The particles may contain other components that make the particles more environmentally friendly or healthy for plant and animal organisms.

  • Patent number: 4946159
Abstract: A martial arts practicing device with reactive limbs comprises a trunk having a padded front trunk section, and a box-like rear trunk section, together with a plurality of reactive limbs which limbs strike at the location of the practitioner of martial arts in reaction to the practitioner striking the front trunk section. The rear trunk section contains a plurality of springs biased against a rigid board member separating the front trunk section from the spring members. Reactive limbs comprise rigid members biased against the board member by spring hinges with flexible limb members attached to the rigid members. The spring hinges together with rigid biasing members cause the rigid limb members to rotate in response to movement of the board member thereby projecting the ends of the connected flexible limb members into a target area immediately in front of the trunk, which target area is the location of the practitioner.
