  • Publication number: 20230015199
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for improved threat sensitivity in a gaming application. As audio streams are received during a gaming scenario, a threat profile is selected that best matches the audio streams. The threat profile is a machine language cluster of noise used to adjust speaker equalization profile to emphasize threat noises. Digital signal processing (DSP) coefficients of the speaker equalization profile are adjusted as the gaming application continues.

  • Patent number: 11388050
Abstract: In some examples, a computing device executing an application may gather data associated with a usage of multiple computing resources (e.g., CPU, GPU, storage, memory, and the like) of the computing device, generate one or more packets to carry the data, and set a priority of each of the one or more packets. The computing device may send the one or more packets to a server, to other computing devices, or both. The server or the other computing devices may send a new profile. The computing device may modify a hardware and software configuration of the computing device based at least in part on the new profile to create a modified configuration and execute the application, resulting in the application having at least one of a reduced latency or an increased throughput using the modified configuration.

  • Patent number: 11199886
Abstract: A method for regulating power dissipation at an information handling system may include determining a present value of a first parameter, the first parameter controlling an operating frequency, frequency boost, and a supply voltage at a central processing unit. The method may further include determining a present value of a second parameter, the second parameter defining a user's preference for optimizing operation of the system for noise level, skin temperature, and performance. The method may further include determining that a program executing at the system is specified at a list of software applications. In response to determining that a skin temperature of the system exceeds a threshold, the first parameter may be adjusted to reduce power dissipation of the CPU by a first amount if the value of the second parameter is equal to a first value. The first parameter may be adjusted by a second amount if the present value of the second parameter is equal to a second value.

  • Patent number: 9720516
Abstract: A system and method which provide a keyboard with keys which are configured using a viscoelasticity model. More specifically, with the viscoelasticity model at least certain keys within the keyboard include an elastic component and a viscous component. The elastic component provides a component force which occurs substantially immediately upon application of a stress to the key and relaxes substantially immediately upon release of the stress from the key. In this way the elastic component functions similarly to a spring in a mechanical dashpot model key. The viscous component provides a component force which grows with time as long as a stress is applied to the key. In this way, the viscous component functions similarly to a dash in a mechanical dashpot model key.

  • Publication number: 20100185816
Abstract: A mechanism which allows pages of flash memory to be read directly into cache. The mechanism enables different cache line sizes for different cache levels in a cache hierarchy, and optionally, multiple line size support, simultaneously or as an initialization option, in the highest level (largest/slowest) cache. Such a mechanism improves performance and reduces cost for some applications.

  • Publication number: 20070074077
Abstract: Hardware component performance in an information handling system is detected with an integrated acoustic power spectra sensor that can be used for diagnostics analysis. The acoustic power spectra data is compared to acoustic models for operative drives to determine an acoustic pass/fail criteria, or to provide more sophisticated analysis of the drive performance, including specific drive failure conditions or impending drive failure conditions.
