Publication number: 20260121412Abstract: An electrical response system allows both traditional and renewable power generating system primary frequency response (PFR), fast frequency response (FFR) and inertial response systems to coordinate their response operations with an energy storage system and optimally pre-size the energy storage system and its charge. The response system allows the energy storage system to be optimally pre-sized by coordinating a power generating system to respond (a) during an over-frequency event by reducing active power output, and (b) during an under-frequency event by the storage discharging active power, thereby providing a coordinated response. Under-frequency events cause power generating systems to pre-curtail their active power output to meet grid requirements, thereby the system and method allows a power generating system to generate active power output at full nameplate capacity while simultaneously meeting electrical grid regulations and requirements.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2023Publication date: April 30, 2026Inventors: MITCHELL MILLER, HUA ZHOU, JIACHENG WANG

Publication number: 20260109610Abstract: When potassium hydroxide (KOH) or other activating agents are used to activate carbon, the hydrochloric acid used to remove it may damage the stainless steel equipment used in the process. Herein, water and citric acid are used to wash the carbon after its activation to reduce damage to the equipment. Prior to activation, a slurry of coal, petroleum coke or other carbonaceous material mixed with water and KOH is dried in layers. During drying, the KOH repeatedly precipitates as a crust on the layers and is repeatedly blended back into the mixture. Activation temperature and duration may be selected to control the pore size distribution in the activated carbon.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2024Publication date: April 23, 2026Inventors: Ali Khosrozadeh, Behzad Gorji Pour Shafiee, Mohsen Sadeghi, Omar Khaled Omar Bin Gah, Mitchell Miller

Publication number: 20260018620Abstract: Electrical energy storage devices made using a wet electrode application technique are associated with high energy consumption. Herein, a dry electrode or electrolyte application process involves mixing activated carbon with a binder and then fibrillating the mixture. The mixture is roll-pressed into a film, which is then actively cooled. Optionally, tension in the cooled portion of the film is increased for spooling the film. The film is adhered to a pre-treated current collector and then wound into a jelly roll for the manufacture of an electrical energy storage device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2025Publication date: January 15, 2026Inventors: Mitchell Miller, Ali Khosrozadeh, Behzad Gorji Pour Shafiee, Omar Khaled Omar Bin Gah, Mohsen Sadeghi

Publication number: 20260011826Abstract: The present invention relates to energy storage devices and more particularly to their design and manufacturing method. The energy storage device comprises an electrically isolated cylindrical sleeve housing open at both ends and closed with two separate end caps integrated with the current terminals with an improved design. The upper and lower end caps are integrated with the anode and cathode terminals, and the cylindrical sleeve housing is electrically isolated from both upper and lower end caps integrated with the current collector terminals. Unlike previously known solutions the cylindrical sleeve housing is electrically isolated both from the upper and lower current terminals which are integrated directly into the end caps wherein this is to avoid undesirable side reactions and the disruption of energy storage mechanism. Additionally, the upper and lower end caps are directly integrated with the current terminals and offer an improved design.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2025Publication date: January 8, 2026Inventors: Mitchell Miller, Ali Khosrozadeh, Behzad Gorji Pour Shafiee

Publication number: 20250173693Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for authenticating a mobile user via an authentication method determined based on a token level associated with the action being completed. An authentication token is created corresponding to the token level and the authentication token is sent to the mobile device. This authentication token may be used to authenticate subsequent actions and engage various services to complete the actions using application programming interfaces. The authentication token stored on the mobile device obviates the need for a user to authenticate multiple times to complete actions requiring a similar token level. The system may authenticate the identity of the mobile user using various authentication methods.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2024Publication date: May 29, 2025Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Jeremy J. Patent number: 12242756Abstract: A system and method for bidirectionally based electrical information storage, processing and communication. Bidirectional memory (tristate) offers the capability to store and interpret multiple bits (Shannon's) of information per memory cell, for structures such as dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), and read-only memory (ROM), and communication circuits, for operation, rather than traditional memory able to store a single “bit” (Shannon) of information per cell. Where, instead of traditional memory cells capable of two possible states (binary digit) and a single defined bit (1 Shannon), bidirectional memory is capable of three states (tristate), where the third information representing state can be a specifically defined state capable of representing multiple bits (multiple Shannon's) for each individual cell, which may be defined to represent a specific sequence of bits (sequence of Shannon's).Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2024Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: Atlas Power Technologies Inc.Inventor: Mitchell Miller
