  • Patent number: 11939547
Abstract: Pre-ground plastics of small particle size not more than 2 mm are co-fed into a solid fossil fuel fed entrained flow partial oxidation gasifier. High solids concentrations in the feedstock stream can be obtained without significant impact on the feedstock stream stability and pumpability. A consistent quality of syngas can be continuously produced, including generation of carbon dioxide and a carbon monoxide/hydrogen ratio while stably operating the gasifier and avoiding the high tar generation of fluidized bed or fixed bed waste gasifiers and without impacting the operations of the gasifier. The subsequent syngas produced from this material can be used to produce a wide range of chemicals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 17, 2022
Date of Patent: March 26, 2024
    Assignee: Eastman Chemical Company
Inventors: William Lewis Trapp, Justin William Murphy, Nathan Mitchell West

  • Patent number: 11939406
Abstract: Densified textile aggregates are co-fed with a fuel into a partial oxidation gasifier. High solids concentrations in the feedstock composition can be obtained without significant impact on the feedstock composition stability and pumpability. A consistent quality of densified textile derived syngas can be continuously produced, including generation of carbon dioxide and a carbon monoxide/hydrogen ratio while stably operating the gasifier and avoiding the high tar generation of fluidized bed or fixed bed waste gasifiers and without impacting the operations of the gasifier. The densified textile derived syngas quality, composition, and throughput are suitable for produce a wide range of chemicals and polymers, including methanol, acetic acid, methyl acetate, acetic anhydride, and cellulose esters through a variety of reaction schemes in which at least a portion of the chemical or polymer originates with densified textile derived syngas.

  • Publication number: 20230415983
Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body coupled to the chassis, a cab coupled to the chassis and positioned in front of the body, a lift assembly coupled to at least one of the chassis or the body. The lift assembly includes a first arm, a second arm, an implement coupled to the first arm and the second arm, and an actuator positioned to pivot the first arm and the second arm to facilitate repositioning the implement between a plurality of positions including a stowed position where the implement is positioned above the body, a working position where the implement is positioned in front of the cab, and a transit position between the stowed position and the working position. The lift assembly further includes one or more projectors coupled to the implement. The one or more projectors are positioned to provide a visual indication of the alignment of the implement with respect to an external target.

  • Publication number: 20230415555
Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis including a plurality of rails, a front and rear tractive assemblies coupled to the chassis, and a battery assembly. The battery assembly is coupled to the chassis between the front and rear tractive assemblies. The battery assembly includes a battery housing, a mounting assembly, and a support. The mounting assembly is coupled to the battery housing and the plurality of rails. The mounting assembly includes a isolator configured to stabilize the battery assembly. The support is positioned within the battery housing and extends along a midpoint of the battery housing. The isolator absorbs horizontal and vertical impact forces introduced to the battery assembly.

  • Publication number: 20230311768
Abstract: A refuse vehicle including a chassis, a tractive element coupled to the chassis and configured to engage a support surface to support the refuse vehicle, a refuse compartment coupled to the chassis, a lift assembly coupled to the chassis and configured to lift a refuse container to transfer refuse from the refuse container into the refuse compartment, and a light projector coupled to the chassis and positioned to emit a light onto the support surface to define a target area. The target area represents a range of positions within which the lift assembly is capable of engaging the refuse container.

  • Publication number: 20230191887
Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis coupled to a wheel, an energy storage system supported by the chassis, a drive motor coupled to the wheel and configured to receive electrical energy from the energy storage system and provide rotational mechanical energy to the wheel, a cab supported by a first portion of the chassis, a refuse compartment supported by a second portion of the chassis, a seat supported within an interior of the cab and including a seat support and a backrest, a control console arranged within the interior of the cab and including a joystick, and a suspension coupled between the cab and the seat and configured to allow the seat to move relative to the cab. The suspension supports the seat and the control console so that a position of the control console relative to the seat is maintained.
