Abstract: A mechanism to enable opening and closing of a vehicle door comprising a swing arm assembly in use pivotally coupled between a vehicle structure and a slide support carriage. The slide support carriage being mounted to an elongate rail assembly attached to the vehicle door for movement there along. The mechanism further comprises a motion control surface attached to or integral with the door assembly and a follower assembly to regulate relative simultaneous pivotal motion of the swing arm according to the position and motion of the slide support carriage along the rail assembly.
