  • Patent number: 7866879
Abstract: An immersion blender which includes a motor housing and an elongate shaft housing extending from the motor housing to a blender working end. The working end includes a rotatable mixing tool enclosed in part by a blade guard. A resilient spatula ring is attached to the blade guard as an extension thereof. The spatula ring has a spatula edge and sufficient flexibility to conform to inner surface contours of a mixing vessel. A spatula ring may also be provided as an aftermarket product to fit existing immersion blender models.

  • Patent number: 7299840
Abstract: A featherboard for use with a cutting machine, such as a table saw, having a table which supports a workpiece, and a fence extending upwardly from the table. A row of flexible fingers lie in respective parallel finger planes and have distal ends for engaging the workpiece. The distal ends generally lie in an engagement plane which is parallel to a featherboard engagement surface of the workpiece, and each of the flexible fingers is capable of flexing in a flex direction perpendicular to its respective finger plane. In a compound angle configuration, the finger planes intersect the engagement plane at a pair of angles so that, during use, a single featherboard provides forces which urge the workpiece both against the fence and against the table as the workpiece is pushed along the fence in a workpiece travel direction. A parallel setting gauge may be included.

  • Patent number: 5245706
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective device for the chest for use in athletic activities such as baseball, softball and hockey. The present invention provides a protective body or plate for the center of the chest and includes a first lobe which extends vertically along the mid portion of the sternum, second and third lobes which respectively extends along the right and left lower portion of the rib cage adjacent to the sternum, and a fourth lobe which extends downward over the solar plexus of the user. The protective plate is also provided with a domed profile which assists in maintaining the proper positioning of the plate and in absorbing and dissipating impact energy.

  • Patent number: 5133545
Abstract: The present invention relates to a progressive accommodating resistance exercise device including a retractable cable, resistance means for providing a resistance force opposing extension of the cable such that the resistance force is a function of the speed of cable extension for all resistance forces having a magnitude greater than the fixed cable retraction force, and adjustment means for varying the relationship between the resistance force and the speed of cable extension for all resistance forces greater in magnitude that the fixed cable retraction force. Means are also disclosed for minimizing the likelihood of joint hyperextension during use.

  • Patent number: 5106082
Abstract: An exercise belt apparatus for supporting at least one load about a user includes first, second and third lengths of webbing. The first ends of the second and third lengths are adjustably connected to one another. The first and second ends of the first length are slidingly connected along the respective lengths of the second and third lengths such that the user is secured between the first length and the portion of the second and third length connected between the ends of the first length. Releasable connection means adjustably located at the second ends of second and third lengths are provided for securing the second and third lengths to the at least one load.
