    Abstract: A device adapted to be located at the entry of a patient room in an institution which detects a person approaching entry to or exit from the room and emits a simulated voice warning of any disease, medical condition, or type of isolation selected by an authorized person for the room, including an identification module which in some embodiments has one or more cameras, an identification badge reader, and/or a facial recognition module. The identification module may record persons entering as well as exiting a patient room. The device may also include means to determine compliance with apparel requirements for the room and may include means to simulate voice warnings such as “wash hands,” “wear gown,” “wear gloves,” “wear mask,” “dispose of gown,” and/or “wash hands after removing protective clothing.
