  • Patent number: 10478689
Abstract: A method for use in a system implementing a reference golf club, one or more sensors associated with the reference golf club, and a computing device. Using the computing device, the method comprises receiving from the one or more sensors swing data relating to a swing of the reference golf club, analyzing the swing data to determine recommended shaft parameter values for each of a plurality of shaft parameters using an algorithm, accessing a shaft database comprising actual shaft parameter values for each of the plurality of shaft parameters for each of a plurality of shafts, determining at least one shaft from the plurality of shafts based, at least in part, on a comparison between the recommended shaft parameter values and the actual shaft parameter values, transmitting information relating to the at least one shaft; and displaying the information on a display of the computing device.

  • Patent number: 10080941
Abstract: The present application is direction to a computing device having a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive data generated in response to a motion of a sporting apparatus, where the data includes a first data relating to a first characteristic of the motion of the sporting apparatus. The first data is based on a comparison between at least two different directional segments of a path created by a first location on the sporting apparatus during the motion of the sporting apparatus. The processor is further configured to analyze the data to determine a skill value, determine a recommended sporting apparatus from a group of at least two sporting apparatuses based on the skill value; and transmit information relating to the recommended sporting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9981166
Abstract: A wood-type golf club head includes a main body and a striking wall associated with the main body. The striking wall has a striking face including a face center, a first imaginary plane tangent to the face center, and a rear surface opposite the striking face. In a second imaginary plane perpendicular to the first imaginary plane and passing through the face center, the striking face includes a first point associated with a maximum thickness, tmax, of the striking wall, and a second point associated with a minimum thickness, tmin, of the striking wall, such that a ratio, tmax/tmin, is no less than 1.70. Also, in the second imaginary plane, the striking wall gradually tapers in thickness entirely from the first point to the second point.
