  • Publication number: 20220099517
Abstract: A method of forming a balancing scallop within a rotating part, including inspecting the rotating part for imbalance, calculating dimensions of the balancing scallop to be formed within the rotating part, positioning the rotating part relative to a material removal machine, starting the tool removal machine, bringing the rotating part and a tool of the material removal machine into engagement, forming a first section of the balancing scallop, forming a second section of the balancing scallop, forming a third section of the balancing scallop, and dis-engaging the rotating part and the tool of the material removal machine.

  • Patent number: 11075569
Abstract: A method of engaging wire ends of a stator assembly. The method involves advancing multiple fingers radially inwardly toward the wire ends, and rotating the fingers. The fingers have protrusions that engage the wire ends. A tooling assembly for engaging the wire ends has a first plate, a second plate, and has the fingers. The first plate has slots, and the second plate has teeth. The fingers have pins that ride in the slots of the first plate, and the fingers have teeth that mesh with the teeth of the second plate.

  • Publication number: 20200185982
Abstract: A stator for an electromagnetic machine includes a first lamination stack defining a first cavity therein and having a central longitudinal axis. The first lamination stack includes a first plurality of mounting ears disposed opposite the first cavity and each spaced apart from one another about the central longitudinal axis. The stator further includes a second lamination stack abutting the first lamination stack and defining a second cavity therein aligned with the first cavity along the central longitudinal axis. The second lamination stack includes a second plurality of mounting ears disposed opposite the second cavity and each spaced apart from the first plurality of mounting ears and from one another about the central longitudinal axis. An electromagnetic machine including the stator and a device including the electromagnetic machine are also described.
