  • Patent number: 8193724
Abstract: In the power supply apparatus which performs voltage conversion of an input voltage (Vbat), with a predetermined set voltage as a target value, and outputs the converted voltage, a boost ratio setting unit sets a boost ratio (XCP) of the charge pump circuit based on the input voltage (Vbat) and a predetermined set voltage. A voltage adjustment unit is a regulator circuit, and adjusts voltage (Vx) so that output voltage (Vout) of the charge pump circuit approaches the set voltage. An output voltage setting unit generates a predetermined set voltage as a digital value (Dset). An A/D converter performs analog-digital conversion of the input voltage (Vbat). The boost ratio setting unit sets the boost ratio based on a result of comparing an input voltage (Ddet) that has undergone analog-digital conversion, and the set voltage (Dset).

  • Publication number: 20100085338
Abstract: An image display device of the present invention adopts a field sequential method whereby image display is performed by sequentially lighting light emitting devices in a backlight portion for each field. The image display device includes: a brightness sensor that is arranged so as to face the backlight portion with a display panel sandwiched in between and detects the brightness of light emitted from the backlight unit and transmitted through the display panel for each of light emitting colors; or a brightness sensor that detects the brightness of the light from the backlight portion for each of the emission colors and detects, by a common light receiving section, the brightness irrespective of the emission colors. The brightness of the light of the backlight portion is controlled according to the detected brightness value for each of the emission colors. This enables constant white balance adjustment to be achieved while realizing accurate detection of brightness required for the white balance adjustment.

  • Publication number: 20080100232
Abstract: In the power supply apparatus, a voltage booster circuit supplies a drive voltage (Vout) to a plurality of light emitting diodes. A drive controller controls a driving state, that is, light emission intensity, of each of the plurality of light emitting diodes. The drive controller drives the plurality of load circuits in a time division manner, the voltage booster circuit is provided with an enabling terminal, and a switching operation is halted during a non-light-emission period in which none of the light emitting diodes is driven by the drive controller. A light emission pattern generator generates light emission control signals which direct light emission of each of the light emitting diodes. The voltage booster circuit halts a switching operation in a non-light-emission period in which none of the light emitting diodes emits light, by a logical operation on the light emission control signals.
