  • Patent number: 11959980
Abstract: Power consumption due to failed automatic calibration is suppressed. An electronic watch is provided with a magnetic sensor, a processor for performing calibration of the magnetic sensor and controlling two or more function modes, and an acceleration sensor for sensing movement of a user. The processor determines whether a state of movement sensed by the acceleration sensor is a calibratable state in which calibration of the magnetic sensor can be performed, performs discrimination of a function mode being executed among the two or more function modes, and performs the calibration of the magnetic sensor when (i) the state of movement sensed by the acceleration sensor is the calibratable state and (ii) the function mode is not a non-default mode, the non-default mode being a function mode executed in accordance with an operation by the user.

  • Patent number: 6313891
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device, a light quantity control portion b 4a is formed to a dot shape by print or the like on a diffusion plate 4 interposed between lens sheets 3 and a light transmission member 5 on the side thereof near to a backlight source 8 composed of a cold cathode fluorescent lamp or the like. Since the dots of the light quantity control portion 4a have a light transmitting property to a certain extent, they reflect a part of the light from the backlight source 8 and permit the remaining light to pass therethrough. With this arrangement, there can be provided the liquid crystal display device capable of brightly and uniformly irradiating the entire surface of the effective display area of a liquid crystal panel from the backside thereof without emission lines.

  • Publication number: 20010013864
Abstract: There is provided a small size and low price driving voltage generator (of a liquid crystal display unit) which can easily adjust output voltages. In this driving voltage generator, a DC-DC converter raises an input voltage (5 [V]) and produces voltages VH and VL. Resistors divide a voltage difference between the voltages VH and VL with resistors. Operational amplifiers output through current amplification each voltage divided by resistance. In the present invention, the external size can be reduced because only two output terminals are required for the DC-DC converter. In addition, manufacturing cost can be lowered because only two output terminals are required for the DC-DC converter. Moreover, since the resistors R1 to R6 are provided in the outside of the DC-DC converter (hybrid IC), these resistors can be exchanged easily. Therefore, the voltages V HCOM, V HSEG, V M, V LSEG, V LCOM can be adjusted easily.

  • Patent number: 6219117
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device contains a liquid crystal panel and a light transmission member disposed below the liquid crystal panel. A reflection sheet is disposed below the light transmission member and a light source is disposed adjacent to one end of the light transmission member. A reflector encases the light source. The periphery of the reflector has reflection walls and forms an opening continuous with the reflection walls. Light direction control walls are formed near the opening of the reflector to control the direction of the light from the light source. The light direction control walls cut off light directed in directions other than a predetermined set of directions. An inner surface of the light direction control walls is composed of reflection layers formed from a different material from the material that forms the reflection walls.

  • Patent number: 5830373
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube has a face panel, a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of the face panel, an electron gun for emitting electron beams toward the phosphor screen, and a shadow mask arranged between the electron gun and the face panel to oppose the phosphor screen. The shadow mask has a large number of electron beam apertures through which the electron beams pass. Each of the electron beam apertures has a small opening open to a first surface of the shadow mask and a large opening open to a second surface of the shadow mask and communicating with the small opening. The large opening has a center axis and a diameter larger than that of the small opening. A wall surface of the shadow mask which defines the large opening of each of the electron beam apertures located at a peripheral portion of the shadow mask includes a bulged portion.

  • Patent number: 5128224
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an aperture pattern printing plate in a limited number of steps using only one original printing plate. The method produces transparent portions on a portion of the printing plate corresponding to a non-effective area of a shadow mask, and opaque portions on a portion of the printing plate corresponding to an effective area of a shadow mask. The method has the steps of bringing a transparent plate having an unexposed transparent photosensitive layer formed on at least one of its principal surfaces into contact with an original plate having opaque areas corresponding to apertures in a to be constructed shadow mask. A first exposure is performed on the photosensitive layer through the original plate. The photosensitive layer is then developed to render exposed portions of the photosensitive layer opaque. These opaque portions are then etched away. A portion of the photosensitive layer corresponding to the non-effective area of a shadow mask is then covered to prevent exposure.
