  • Publication number: 20090080803
Abstract: Provided is a program that is executed by an image processing apparatus including a memory and a processor, and which generates two-dimensional image data obtained by performing perspective projection to a virtual three-dimensional space on a prescribed perspective projection plane. The program causes the processor to perform processes of (a) arranging a viewpoint in the virtual three-dimensional space, generating basic image data by performing perspective projection on the perspective projection plane set in correspondence to the viewpoint, and storing the basic image data in the memory; (b) setting a concentration map showing a concentration value associated with a partial region of the basic image data, and storing the concentration map in the memory; (c) reading texture data from the memory; and (d) generating the two-dimensional image data by synthesizing the texture data with the basic image data at a ratio according to the concentration value set with the concentration map.

  • Patent number: 6602031
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for machining a workpiece, which comprises the steps of: separately supplying compressed air and a liquid into a through-hole longitudinally extending through a drawbar within a spindle of a machine tool; allowing the compressed air and the liquid to separately flow through the through-hole; mixing the liquid with the compressed air in a distal end portion of the through-hole so as to make the liquid into a mist form; ejecting the resulting mist from a distal open end of the through-hole to supply the mist to a distal end of a tool along an outer periphery of the tool or through the inside of the tool; and machining the workpiece while ejecting the mist from the distal end of the tool to supply the mist to a machining part.

  • Publication number: 20020119019
Abstract: A machining method and a mist supplying apparatus for use in the method, which provide an excellent cooling effect for a rotation shaft without the need for an ejection nozzle. The machining method comprises the steps of: providing a machine tool which includes a rotation shaft (2) rotatably supported by a casing (1); causing compressed air and a liquid to separately pass through the inside of the casing (1) and into the rotation shaft (2); mixing the liquid with the compressed air within the rotation shaft (2) so as to form the liquid into a mist; feeding the resulting mist along the outer periphery of the tool or through the inside of the tool to a distal end of a generally cylindrical tool fixed to the rotation shaft (2); and supplying the mist to a machining part from the distal end of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20020033081
Abstract: A machining method for a workpiece with a lathe device, wherein compressed air and liquid are individually supplied to the interior of a turret. After the compressed air and the liquid are separately passed through the interior of the turret, they are separately supplied to the interior of a tool holding means fixed to the turret. At the interior of the tool holding means, the compressed air and the liquid are mixed and atomized to form a mist. Atomized mist is then delivered to a tip of a working tool for machining, either along the outer surface or within the interior of the working tool, and is sprayed onto a working part from the tip of the working tool. The machining method does not cause problems such as hardening, like quenching, of a surface of the workpiece with generated cutting heat even during high-speed cutting.

The present invention eliminates problems associated with direct liquid supply by ejection of the liquid in a mist form, and ensures homogeneous mixing of the liquid and the air even with the construction utilizing the spindle of the machine tool.
