  • Patent number: 10965978
Abstract: A recording device includes a tuner, a memory, and a controller. The tuner receives broadcast programs. The memory records the broadcast programs via a plurality of recording paths between the tuner and the memory. The controller uses at least two of the recording paths to record a plurality of consecutive broadcast programs on a predetermined channel in the memory. An output of the tuner is inputted to the at least two of the recording paths.

  • Patent number: 8218407
Abstract: This DVD replay device with incorporated hard disk includes a DVD drive which reads data from a DVD, and a HDD which performs recording of data upon, and reading of data from, a HD which has a first storage region and a second storage region. Furthermore, this DVD replay device with incorporated hard disk includes a control means which, when dubbing of data is commanded, decides whether or not the data upon the DVD is recorded in the DVD-VIDEO format, and a selection means which receives a selection as to whether the speed of the dubbing should be a first speed or a second speed. And, if the data upon the DVD is recorded in the DVD-VIDEO format, if the second speed has been selected, the HDD records the data recorded upon the DVD into the first storage region of the HD just as it is in the DVD-VIDEO format.

  • Patent number: 7974519
Abstract: When information is recorded on an optical disc of DVD+R type, a latest RSAT is recorded upon completion of recording of one title. When recording of the latest RSAT fails, previous RSAT address information that indicates an address in which a previous RSAT is recorded is stored in a lead-in area of the optical disc. When an optical disc is loaded for reproduction, it is checked if the previous RSAT address information is present in the lead-in area. If it is present, the previous RSAT address information is obtained. If the latest RSAT is not found in a predetermined location but the previous RSAT address information is present, reproduction from the optical disc of DVD+R type is started by using the previous RSAT.

  • Patent number: 7602677
Abstract: An optical disk device includes a pickup head configured to record and read data on and from an optical disk, and a recording/reproducing circuit such as a RF amplifier. The optical disk device also includes a control section configured to determine whether or not recording of data by the pickup head is normal and exercises control for predetermined instructions to be given to the pickup head based on the result of determination. If it is determined that the recording by the pickup head is erroneous, the control section carries out a control process such as to stop recording and then resume recording at a position moved a predetermined amount from an error position at which the pickup head has stopped recording.

  • Patent number: 7558468
Abstract: A disk recording/reproducing apparatus includes a main control part which controls a recording part to record data of video or audio on a disk, a sub control part which controls an operation part having plural keys, and a storage part which stores a message to an effect that it is in recording and a record position of data on the disk. Preferably, in a case that power returns after a power failure, when the message to the effect is stored, the main control part searches data recorded based on the record position in a unit of first logical data, checks validity of control data, obtains a position of final valid first logical data, when the position is not a boundary of second logical data, obtains a position of final valid second logical data, and records subsequently new data from a position next to the position.

  • Publication number: 20070223890
Abstract: Provided is an optical disc apparatus capable of achieving a time search even if a loaded optical disc is a DVD on which information is recorded in +VR format. A system controller equipped in the optical disc apparatus adds up playback times of cells sequentially from a first cell and finds a cell that includes a search time as a target cell when time search processing based on the search time that is inputted is performed on a +VR formatted DVD; obtains a position of a first VOBU of the target cell in a VOBU address map; calculates a playback time per VOBU; calculates a position of a target VOBU in the VOBU address map; and obtains a finally targeted VOBU in the time search by using search information of the target VOBU when a difference between the search time and a sum of a playback time leading to the target VOBU and an elapsed time of the target VOBU within cell is determined within, for example, ±3 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20060285824
Abstract: A terminal apparatus 1 displays a still image when a person the user desires to search appears during reproduction so that the face of the person to be searched is selected from the still image. Feature point data is acquired which is composed of a contour, eye position, and the like of the selected face. Broadcasting date and time of a video under reproduction is acquired based on elapsed time of reproduction and recording start date and time. Then, broadcasting date and time, a channel frequency, and feature point data of a video targeted for search is transmitted to a server 27. The server 27 has previously stored feature data of entertainers, and searches for an entertainer corresponding to information transmitted from the terminal apparatus 1. If an answer indicating search end is provided from the server 27 and also there is a person corresponding to the feature point data, the terminal apparatus 1 displays an entertainer name on a screen.

  • Publication number: 20050271370
Abstract: In an optical disc apparatus, when only weekly-program setting is entered to a weekly-program setting row on a setup screen, a back end MCU performs weekly-program setting. When weekly-program setting is entered to the weekly-program setting row and single-program setting is entered to a single-program setting row, the back end MCU performs a recording operation preferentially for the single-program setting, without canceling the weekly-program setting.
