  • Publication number: 20120170816
Abstract: The device includes first means for splitting a biometric pattern image into a plurality of regions, assigning index numbers to the respective split-pattern images, and storing them in a split-image table; second means for splitting a newly read biometric pattern image into a plurality of regions, comparing each of the split-pattern images with the split-pattern images stored in the split-image table, acquiring or assigning, depending on if the split-image table is determined to have stored therein a similar split-pattern image, an index number to the relevant split-pattern image of the newly read pattern image, and storing them in the split-image table; and third means for creating, as biometric information that represents a feature of the newly read biometric pattern, an index number list composed of the index number.

  • Publication number: 20100246975
Abstract: For an image of an object for use in biometrics and the like, if the imaging object is still is detected with a simple configuration. From two pieces of image data that have been captured in time series, the absolute value of the difference in brightness of pixels in the identical position is calculated, and the number of pixels whose absolute values exceed the threshold value indicative of the limit of the brightness change is counted. The counted result is compared with the movement determination threshold value to determine if the imaging object is still.

  • Publication number: 20050060658
Abstract: A method allows a window to be enlarged, reduced in size, or moved easily by designating an operated object without performing an operation of accurately positioning a point position at a frame line or vertex as the operated object. The method comprises a step of sequentially acquiring the position of a pointer of said pointer device as said pointer is moved after the movement trajectory of said pointer intersects itself following the start of a pointer moving operation, until said pointer moving operation is completed, and storing the thus acquired positions in a table; a step in which it is determined if a part of the movement trajectory of said pointer that is obtained by connecting the information about the movement positions of said pointer stored in said table intersects any of the frame lines of the window as a controlled object, and if it does, the following factors: a. the number of intersected frame lines of the window; and b.
