  • Patent number: 7055815
Abstract: The present invention relates to a delivery processing apparatus for delivering a sheet after implementing a prescribed sheet processing upon aligning the sheet, and includes an aligning device for aligning a sheet, a conveying device for conveying the sheet to the aligning device and a bundle delivering device disposed on an upstream side of the aligning device in a sheet conveyance direction for delivering a sheet bundle being done with a sheet processing. The bundle delivering device is able to choose a conveyable state for conveying the sheet upon nipping the sheet and a non-conveyable state for not conveying the sheet, wherein when a first sheet among a plurality of sheets to be conveyed to the aligning device by the conveying device is conveyed the conveyable state is chosen, and wherein when a second or later sheet is conveyed the non-conveyable state is chosen.

  • Patent number: 6674976
Abstract: Provided are a post-processing device, an image forming apparatus having the post-processing device and an error handling method therefor. A conveyed sheet is temporarily stacked on a pair of slide guides (310, 311), and after post-processing such as stapling is conducted on the sheets, the slide guides (310, 311) are opened to drop down the sheets on a face-down discharge portion (125) on an upper surface of a printer (100). If the number of sheets temporarily stacked on the slide guides (310, 311) exceeds the post-processing possible number of sheets, the slide guides (310, 311) are opened to drop down the sheets on the face-down discharge portion (125). If the size of sheets to be post-processed is unsuitable for the post-processing, a flapper (301) is changed over so that the sheets transported from the printer main body (100) are discharged directly to the face-down discharge portion (125) and stacked thereon.

  • Patent number: 6516167
Abstract: An image formation apparatus has a controller which performs monitoring and control over a directly connected option apparatus by communicating with a controller of the directly connected option apparatus. Monitoring and control over another option apparatus that itself has a controller is performed not by the controller of the image formation apparatus but by the controller of the option apparatus close to the image formation apparatus. The image formation apparatus can keep track of the situation of a far-off option apparatus without performing direct monitoring or control thereof, by the controller of the option apparatus sending to the controller of the image formation apparatus a notice indicating the situation of the option apparatus sent from the controller of yet another option apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20010026698
Abstract: To provide an image formation apparatus with a suppressed increase of processing load on the controller of the image formation apparatus even if a plurality of option apparatuses is connected, option apparatuses of the image formation apparatus and an image formation system configured by these image formation apparatus and option apparatuses. A controller 127 of the image formation apparatus performs monitoring and control over the directly connected option apparatus by communicating with A controller 128 of the directly connected option apparatus. Monitoring and control over another option apparatus that owns a controller 129 is performed not by the controller 127 of the image formation apparatus but by the controller 128 of the option apparatus close to the image formation apparatus.
