  • Patent number: 6453364
Abstract: The control section 42 of the first VCR 2 discriminates information reproduced from a magnetic tape whether the information is analog information or digital information. In case of reproducing analog information, the recording/reproducing section 43 outputs reproduced information to the analog signal terminal 53. In case of reproducing digital information, the control section 42 controls the recording/reproducing section 43 so as to output reproduced information to the digital signal terminal 51 through the digital interface section 41.

  • Patent number: 6430356
Abstract: An analog control signal with an index signal recorded in a first magnetic tape is reproduced in synchronization with the reproduction of an AV digital signal recorded in the first magnetic tape. The index signal corresponds to a leading position of the AV digital signal. When the index signal is detected, an index code is prepared, and the index code and the AV digital signal are packed in an isochronous packet. The index code corresponds to the leading position of the AV digital signal. The isochronous packet is transmitted to a recording VCR through a packet transmission line, and the AV digital signal extracted from the packet is recorded in a second magnetic tape. Also, when the index code of the packet is detected, a duty ratio of a specific group of pulses of a control signal generated in the recording VCR is changed to reproduce the index signal.

  • Patent number: 6292846
Abstract: A control apparatus and a VTR are connected via an IEEE1394 interface bus. The control apparatus transmits a command to the VTR via the bus to designate a recording mode and a recording region of input information recorded on a magnetic tape loaded in the VTR. In response to this command, the VTR interprets the content of the received command and performs a recording operation in accordance with the interpreted content. Furthermore, the control apparatus transmits a recording time status command to an information transport apparatus to inquire a recording time of a specific information recorded on the magnetic tape. The information transport apparatus notifies the control apparatus of the recording time. The control apparatus calculates an expected information transport end time based on the information transport start time and the recording time of the specific information notified from the information transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5966497
Abstract: When video signals, audio signals, computer data, etc. are recorded in digital fashion on a magnetic tape, the timing at which the control pulse is recorded is set appropriately. The control pulse forming circuit (31) sets a travel distance of the magnetic tape (4) from a position midway of the digital signal pattern (D.sub.2) now being recorded by the 2ch second magnetic head (8b) to the outlet position of the digital signal pattern (D.sub.2) to a .DELTA.X value, when the 2ch first magnetic head (7b) reaches the outlet position of a virtual video signal pattern (V.sub.2), without recording with advance of magnetic tape travel; and further records the control pulse C by shifting the recording timing of the control pulse C by a value corresponding to the .DELTA.X value relative to a prescribed distance X value on the magnetic tape (4).
