  • Patent number: 5118304
Abstract: An electrical terminal for forming an electrical connector assembly has an electrical wire connecting portion and a tubular terminal connecting portion extending forward from the electrical connecting portion. First and second axes are defined in the cross-sectional plane of the terminal connecting portion. A plurality of slots are formed in the terminal connecting portion with at least one of the slots extending from the free end of the terminal connecting portion toward the electrical wire connecting portion. when the connecting portion of one electrical terminal is fitted in the slot formed in the connecting portion of another electrical terminal, the respective electrical terminals are sequentially connected in a chained fashion in the direction of the first axes, the second axes of the respective connecting portions are parallel to each other, and the first axes of the respective connecting portions are in alignment with each other.

  • Patent number: 4940430
Abstract: An electrical connector with an openable cover. The front half of an upper wall of the connector housing is removed to provide an opening with a slide cover provided for covering the opening. A peep notch is formed in the front edge of the upper wall of the connector. The slide cover is configured such that in a closed position a peep gap appears between the rear edge of the slide cover and the front top edge of the connector housing. A retainer mechanism is provided on the cover which comprises an angular projection formed on the slide cover and having a guide surface, and a retainer projection formed on the lower surface of the front edge of the housing whereby the retainer projection is guided by the guide surface to be engaged with the angular projection locking the slide cover in its closed position. A resilient, cantilever type, retainer piece is provided for insuring a positive, locked seating with a mating connector.

  • Patent number: 4674819
Abstract: An electric wire branching connector device is used for forming branching circuits in a wire harness system. The device has an upper case and a lower case adapted to clamp therebetween a first group of electric wires extracted from the wire harness system and arranged in a side-by-side fashion. The device also has a plurality of terminal strips inserted into corresponding holes formed in the upper case. Each of the terminal strips is provided at its one end with at least one male terminal adapted to be received in a hole or holes and at its other end with a wire grip portion having a U-shaped slot. The male terminals of the terminal strips are projected through the holes above the upper surface of the upper case such as to form plug for receptacle connectors to which are connected electric wires 4B of a second group also extracted from the wire harness system.
