Patent number: 5348808Abstract: In a hard sintered cutting tool, the tool life can be further increased. In this hard sintered body cutting tool, a rake face of an edge portion is formed by a major surface of a first sintered body layer containing at least 80 percent by volume and less than 98 percent by volume of diamond, while a flank of the edge portion is formed by a second sintered body layer containing at least 30 percent by volume and less than 75 percent by volume of cubic boron nitride (CBN). The first sintered body layer is formed to have a thickness of at least 0.02 mm and less than 0.1 mm, and to be in a thickness ratio of at least 1:5 to the second sintered body layer. Thus, chipping resistance of the rake face is improved by the first sintered body layer, while wear resistance of the flank is improved by the second sintered body layer. As a result, it is possible to suppress progress of local wear and chipping, whereby the life of the cutting tool is increased as compared with the prior art.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1993Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Assignee: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Mitsuhiro Goto, Tetsuo Nakai

Patent number: 4393390Abstract: An electrostatic printer for printing images on an electrostatic recording medium. The electrostatic printer includes an elongated electrode and a back electrode. The back electrode is spaced from the elongated electrode to define a gap therebetween. The gap, defined by the elongated electrode and the back electrode, is adapted to permit the passage of the electrostatic recording medium in a predetermined direction and is effectively reduced at a given point on the elongated electrode. The elongated electrode is displaceable relative to the back electrode so that the point on the elongated electrode which then defines the effectively reduced gap is displaced laterally of the direction of passage of the electrostatic recording medium in response to the displacement of the elongated electrode.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1980Date of Patent: July 12, 1983Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Suwa SeikoshaInventors: Kenji Aoki, Mitsuhiro Goto, Teiji Miura

Patent number: 4273019Abstract: An electronic tone or note generator capable of providing improved musical and tone quality and special sound effects by mixing the outputs of a plurality of note-signal-producing circuits is provided. The electronic tone or note generator of the invention is characterized by the use of a primary electronic note circuit for producing a primary note signal which is a portion of a primary melody, and a secondary electronic note circuit for producing a secondary note signal that is musically related to the primary melody. The relationship between signals can be a time lag between the outputs of the two note signal circuits or a small difference in frequency between the signal outputs of the two note circuits. Additionally, each note signal circuit can output alternate notes of a continuing melody such that a note from one circuit may persist while the next note from the second circuit is played.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1979Date of Patent: June 16, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Suwa SeikoshaInventor: Mitsuhiro Goto
