  • Patent number: 6904543
Abstract: An engine control ECU includes a microcomputer, which includes CPU, RAM, ROM, FPU and I/O. The FPU performs floating-point calculations and the CPU carries out operations other than the floating-point calculations. The CPU checks whether non-numeric exists, and performs backup processing when the non-numeric is found. In the backup processing, the RAM data is initialized by writing default values harmless to control as the RAM data. In addition to or alternative to the initialization, the CPU disables a floating-point calculation of the FPU. Without using the FPU, the CPU performs engine control operations by using integer data instead of floating-point data.

  • Patent number: 6240358
Abstract: Task control via a multi-task or real time operating system that reduces the size of a RAM in which a stack region for processing the tasks, as well as an interrupt processing function, is set. An interrupt for interrupting any of a plurality of individual tasks having set priorities at a higher priority than the set priorities of the individual tasks is set. Thereafter, a stack region is set for processing the individual tasks and the interrupt in a writable and readable memory. The size of the stack region is then set to a size necessary for processing the individual tasks and in accordance with a task number, while a separate stack region is set for the interrupt.

  • Patent number: 5880653
Abstract: A manufacturing method for an electromagnetic relay whereby a base block 20 is monolithically molded to terminals 21-24 and connector tabs 62 provided in a lead frame 60. After separating the terminals 21-24 from the lead frame 60 and bending the terminals, a permanent magnet 30 and armature block 40 are assembled into the base block 20. A case 50 is then pressed down over the base block 20 to separate the base block 20 from the connector tabs 62 of the lead frame 60. Electrical inspection and aging treatment can thus be accomplished with the base block 20 connected to the lead frame 60, improving assembly precision and productivity.

  • Patent number: 5649188
Abstract: A system for electronically storing and retrieving information. Information is scanned into the system and a user manually designates that the information is to be sorted using boxes which are like folders, sorted by date, or sorted by a card such as by cards which are arranged alphabetically. When the user manually indicates that the information is to be sorted by box, there is also an automatic sort by date and by card. In this case the card which is used is a temporary sort card which is automatically designated. When the user manually indicates that the sort is other than by box, the information is automatically sorted into a temporary box. After the information is stored and sorted, the information can be retrieved and printed, as desired. The system utilizes a scanner, processor, storage device and printer.

  • Patent number: 5270674
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay of the present invention has a large dielectric strength between a coil and each contact because of an insulative member interposed therebetween. Even if the straight distance between the coil and each contact is small, it is possible to obtain a sufficient dielectric strength without an extra process. Moreover, since a leg part of the coil terminal is coated with an insulative resin, the dielectric strength between the coil terminal and a movable iron element or a movable contact piece is enhanced. An insertion window formed in an insulating plate of the coil helps to insert a thickness gauge with high positioning accuracy.
