  • Patent number: 5290864
Abstract: A thermoplastic polyester composition is improved in mechanical properties and comprises a polyester, a vinyl polymer having --COOH, alkyl ester of --COOH, phenyl or cyano and an olefin copolymer comprising an alpha-olefin and an alpha, beta-unsaturated acid glycidyl ester or (C.sup.2) a graft copolymer comprising said olefin copolymer (C.sup.1) and one or more (co)polymers mainly comprising repeating units represented by the following general formula (2), wherein said copolymer (C.sup.1) and said (co)polymers are chemically bonded to each other to form a branched or crosslinked structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 stands for a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and Y stands for one or more groups selected from --COOH, an alkyl ester of --COOH having 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl, phenyl and cyano.

  • Patent number: 5176006
Abstract: The position where an indoor unit is actually installed is manually instructed by an installation position confirmation element. A temperature correction value selector selects and outputs, from a Table prepared in advance, a temperature correction value (.DELTA.T.sub.s) in dependency upon the installation position confirmed by the installation position confirmation element in order to compensate a temperature difference which can exist between a temperature at a position to be mainly air-conditioned of a room and a temperature at the position where the indoor unit is installed, i.e., at the position where a room temperature is sensed. Thus, a set temperature (T.sub.s), a room temperature (T.sub.a), or a difference (T.sub.s -T.sub.a) therebetween is corrected by the temperature correction value (.DELTA.T.sub.s).

  • Patent number: 5128399
Abstract: Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) injection-molding compositions exhibit improved mold-release properties and sufficient extruder screw "bite" during injection molding. The PBT compositions are a polyblend of a PBT base resin with an effective amount (preferably between about 0.01 to 10 parts by weight) of a processing aid which is a sorbitan ester of a fatty acid having at least 12 carbon atoms. The PBT injection molding compositions of the invention may be used in a variety of end-use applications (e.g., the automotive and/or electronic industries) to form stable injection-molded thin-walled and/or complex-shaped articles.

  • Patent number: 5115004
Abstract: Polyester resin molding compositions exhibiting exceptional low temperature physical properties (i.e., flexibility and toughness) and satisfactory mold-release properties include a melt-blend of a polyester base resin (preferably one which predominantly contains polybutylene terephthalate units), a polyester elastomer (preferably a copolyester having hard and soft segments), and a mold-release effective amount of a sorbitan ester (preferably an ester reaction product of a sorbitan with fatty acid having at least 12 carbon atoms). The sorbitan ester most preferably has a hydroxyl value of between 50 to 400, exclusive, so that blooming during injection molding operations (e.g., a predrying stage) is minimized (if not eliminated entirely). Molded articles formed of the compositions of this invention may be used in a variety of applications, for example, as parts for the automotive and/or electronics industries.

  • Patent number: 5049603
Abstract: The polyester comopsition is improved in properties at low and high temperatures and is prepared by mixing 100 parts by weight of a mixture comprising (A) 60 to 99 parts by weight of a crystalline thermoplastic polyester resin and (B) 1 to 40 parts by weight of a polyester elastomer with (C) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a bisoxazoline compound, (D) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a phosphorus compound represented by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different from each other and are each a group selected from among alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl and alkoxy groups, and (E) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of one or more antioxidants selected from among thio ether compounds and hindered phenol compounds.

  • Patent number: 4929712
Abstract: A polyacetal resin composition is prepared by melt-kneading a polyacetal resin (A) (99 to 40 wt. %) with a thermoplastic polyurethane (B) (1 to 60 wt. %) in the presence of a polyisocyanate compound, a polyisothiocyanate compound or a modification thereof (C) in an amount of 0.1 to 10 wt. % based on the total of A and B.
