  • Publication number: 20120066406
Abstract: A reproduction device includes a reception unit that receives content data through a network in a streaming manner; a discrimination unit that discriminates reproduction data to reproduce and non-reproduction data not to reproduce in the content data received in the streaming manner by the reception unit; a data managing unit that stores the reproduction data in a buffer and does not store the non-reproduction data in the buffer, with respect to the reproduction data and the non-reproduction data discriminated by the discrimination unit; and a decoding unit that decodes the reproduction data stored in the buffer by the data managing unit.

  • Patent number: 7558471
Abstract: A DVD recorder is provided which includes an NTSC decoder (15) for converting an NTSC-based TV signal into an ITU-R BT. 601-based video signal, an MPEG encoder (17) for encoding the ITU-R BT. 601-based video signal into an MPEG-2 data stream, a driver (23) for recording the MPEG-2-based data stream to a DVD disk, and a VBI slice circuit (24) for detecting VBI from the TV signal. When the V timing of an input signal is asynchronous with that of recording signal, the MPEG encoder (17) inserts null data as blanking data into an arbitrary frame if a frame repeat has occurred or deletes null data from blanking data from an arbitrary frame if a frame skip has occurred.

  • Patent number: 6525450
Abstract: A vehicular bulb with its front end coated with a glare-protection paint that contains silicon carbide (SiC) as its pigment substance. With this silicon carbide contained paint, the front end externally assumes a color that is substantially the same color as reflectors and is thus prevented from being easily recognized from the outside of a lighting fixture that is installed with such a bulb.

  • Publication number: 20020142945
Abstract: Methods for modulating immune responses, in particular IgE responses, are provided. The methods involve contacting an cell with an agent comprising multivalent lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT), which modulates an immune response. The methods are useful for enhancing production of non-specific polyclonal IgE, inhibiting production of antigen-specific IgE responses, inducing cytokine production, and stimulating proliferation of splenocytes. In a preferred embodiment, the invention provides methods for modulating an immune response to an antigen (e.g., an allergan) in vivo. Pharmaceutical compositions for modulating immune responses comprising the agents of the invention are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5043624
Abstract: An electric lamp assembly comprising a lamp bulb a lamp base being essentially formed of a synthetic resin material and a retaining band being made of a metal. A plurality of weldable supporting pieces formed of a metal are integrally formed on the lamp base by insert forming process with the front end portions of the supporting pieces projecting out of the front end portion of the lamp base. A plurality of mounting openings are formed in the retaining band. Respective front end portions of the supporting pieces are inserted through the mounting openings in the retaining band and are welded to edges of the mounting openings respectively.

  • Patent number: 4879491
Abstract: An electric lamp assembly is disclosed which comprises a bulb unit including a filament, lead lines extending from the filament to the outside of the bulb unit and a hermetic seal portion, the lead lines extending through the hermetic seal portion; a bulb holder including a looped band portion which gripps the hermetic seal portion of the bulb unit having leading ends of the lead lines projected outward from the bulb holder, the bulb holder having foot portions each being formed with at least one opening; and a base assembly including a circular body part, a pair of conducting plate members having leading ends projected outward from respective slits formed in the body part and a plurality of supporting pins extending outward from the body part. The supporting pins are inserted into the openings of the foot portions of the bulb holder and welded to the foot portions to achieve a tight connection between the base assembly and the bulb holder.

  • Patent number: 4864183
Abstract: A lamp assembly having a molded plastic holder body for holding a light bulb in position thereon. The light bulb has a flat base encircled by a holder band which has bulb retainer lugs resiliently engaging the bulb base under their own bias. The holder band inclusive of the bulb retainer lugs is made from a metal (e.g. nickel silver) that is resilient enough to enable the lugs to securely engage the bulb base. Spot welded to the holder band is a first connector made from another metal (e.g. austenitic stainless steels of certain specific compositions) that is weldable enough to permit the first connector to be firmly welded to the holder band. A second connector of substantially tubular shape, which may be made from the same metal as the first connector, is immovably engaged in the holder body and welded to the first connector.

  • Patent number: 4769574
Abstract: For coupling a halogen incandescent lamp to a plastic lamp base in correct positional relationship, a sheet-metal lamp holder is rigidly engaged with a hermetic end seal of the lamp, and a sheet-metal sleeve is anchored in the lamp base. The sleeve has several connecting fingers extending therefrom for somewhat loose engagement in openings in the lamp holder. The loose engagement of the sleeve fingers in the lamp holder openings permit adjustment of the positions of the lamp and the lamp base, which are secured respectively to the lamp holder and to the lamp base, with respect to each other. The sleeve fingers are welded to the lamp holder following the adjustment of the positional relationship between the lamp and the lamp holder.
