Abstract: A three-dimensional display device includes a display, a barrier, and a controller. The display displays a parallax image including a right-eye viewing image and a left-eye viewing image. The barrier defines a traveling direction of image light of the parallax image. The controller causes a black image to appear between the right-eye viewing image and the left-eye viewing image based on a parallax value of the parallax image.

Abstract: A toilet apparatus includes: a toilet seat disposed above a toilet bowl; an image sensor photographing an inside of a bowl of the toilet bowl; and a control unit controlling the image sensor to execute an automatic photographing mode of automatically photographing the inside of the bowl. When acquiring a user’s photographing intention information indicating whether or not the user has an intention to photograph the inside of the bowl, the control unit switches between executing and stopping of the automatic photographing mode based on the acquired photographing intention information.

Abstract: A photography system includes: an authentication unit executing personal authentication of a user using a toilet bowl; and a control unit controlling an image sensor 44 to automatically photograph an inside of a bowl of the toilet bowl. The control unit 312 conducts the automatic photographing of the inside of the bowl if the personal authentication is successful and does not conduct the automatic photographing of the inside of the bowl if the personal authentication fails.

Abstract: Suitability of a recording medium for being recorded to and/or reproduced from by an apparatus is determined. Address information is read from a recording medium having at least a first area in which data is recordable, a second area, and a third area. The second area is followed by the first area which is followed by the third area. The address information includes first address information, which represents the position of the second area, and/or second address information which represents the position of the third area. A possible error in the address information is detected based on an error detection code generated for the address information. Whether the recording medium is suitable for being recorded to or reproduced from by the apparatus is determined based on a result of the detecting step. The recording medium is suitable when no error is detected and is unsuitable when an error is detected.

Abstract: A swivel joint for connecting fluid pipes includes a plurality of elements placed one upon another. Each element includes a cylindrical stationary portion and a cylindrical rotatable portion surrounding the stationary portion and supported rotatably thereon by a pair of vertically spaced apart sliding bearings. The two portions define therebetween an annular fluid passage having a fluid inlet to which a pipe is connected and a fluid outlet to which another pipe is connected. The rotatable portion has a pair of inclined edge surfaces. Each bearing has an inclined edge surface which is complementary to one of the inclined edge surfaces of the rotatable portion and which cooperates therewith to align the axis of rotation of the rotatable portion with the center of the stationary portion. Abstract: According to the recording apparatus of the present invention, recording papers are wound by the winding member while the end portions of the recording papers are tightly held. The recording papers can therefore be correctly reciprocated. Furthermore, before recording is effected by the recording head, the recording papers are one wound back by the winding member to an initial position, thereby removing strains or deflections of the recording papers. Also, in the case of a color printer of thermal transcription, images in each of the four colors can be accurately overlapped without disagreement.

Abstract: Disclosed is a heat-transfer type thermal recording device capable of recording/printing color pictures by heating an ink tape using a thermal line head and transferring ink from the ink film tape to a continuous sheet of recording paper where the ink film tape and recording paper are conveyed simultaneously, consisting of a vertical cassette unit with an ink-tape supply reel and a take-up reel which allows both to freely rotate by suspending them between two side panels of the cassette unit, with such a configuration in which the ink tape from the supply reel is continuously retrieved by the take-up reel through an inferior aperture in the cassette unit after the ink tape is drawn through a superior aperture in the cassette unit. The cassette unit is installed in a designated position inside the thermal recording device to enable easy loading and unloading and to simplify positioning of the ink film tape between the thermal line head of the recording device and the recording paper platen reel.

Abstract: A video tape recorder, according to the present invention, comprises a mechanical chassis supporting a mechanism for recording and reproducing video signals on a magnetic video tape housed in a cassette. The mechanical chassis moves essentially on a horizontal plane at a load position and an ejecting position. At the load position, the mechanical chassis projects frontward from an outer cover housing of the video tape recorder for loading and/or ejecting a magnetic video tape cassette. Preferably, the recorder has at least two load positions and can perform recording and/or reproduction at either load position. At a first load position, the mechanical chassis is housed within the internal space of the recorder housing. At second load position, the mechanical chassis projects at least partway from the recorder housing. A push-button operated controller for operating the recorder is also disclosed.

Abstract: A thermal head comprises a substrate providing a flat surface and an oblique surface. The oblique surface carries a plurality of thermal resistor elements while the flat surface carries a driving element for driving the thermal resistor elements. The oblique surface is close to the surface of a recording paper positioned on a platen of a recording apparatus. A wiring pattern is provided for connecting the thermal resistor elements and the driving element.
