  • Patent number: 5112327
Abstract: A double-sided needle assembly includes an insert needle for inserting into a vessel; an afflux needle for supplying pharmaceutical liquid in an injector to the insert needle; and a luer member. The member connects the insert needle with the afflux needle through a space defined between the ends of the needles in the member, and holds the insert and afflux needles to fit to the syringe of the injector under pressure. The confirmation of the insertion of the insert needle into the vessel is accomplished by observing the space of the luer member.

  • Patent number: 5017191
Abstract: An injector pre-filled with a radiopharmaceutical liquid, which comprises (1) a syringe containing a radiopharmaceutical liquid with a stopper made of an elastic material fitted at the top opening, (2) a holder having a hole at thee central part fitted on the stopper to keep it firmly at such position, (3) an adaptor having a body portion of which the lower part forms a cap portion, a passage for the radiopharmaceutical liquid penetrating the body portion and a hollow needle portion continuously extending from the passage to the lower direction, detachably fitted on the syringe, and (4) a disposable needle head comprising a needle having a passage for the radiopharmaceutical liquid therein and a cap portion, detachably fitted on the body portion of said adaptor to make a gap at the top part of the cap portion of the needle head, the cap portion of the needle head being at least partly made of an inside observable material.

  • Patent number: 4994012
Abstract: A radiation-shielded injector comprises a cylinder of radiation shielding material having a cutout, a transparent radiation shielding plate being fitted to the cutout, a through-hole being provided at the closed end of the cylinder, a winged finger holding member being fixed to the cylinder, a cap having a hole for the passage through of a plunger being detachably attached, and a syringe-type body encapsulated with radioactive material, the cap being attached to the free end of the cylinder whereby the body is fixedly caught between the closed end of the cylinder and the cap. The infected is characterized by forming a built-up portion like a bank of radiation shielding material on the cutout periphery of the cylinder, the peripheral lateral side of the transparent plate being thereby covered with the thickness of the built-up portion. The radiation-shielded injector thus designed can minimize leakage of radiation and effectively protect the operator from radiation exposure.

  • Patent number: 4968305
Abstract: A kit for the administration of a radiopharmaceutical liquid composition has been developed, which includes a radiation-shielding injector accompanied with a syringe-type vial having a gasket therein, a seal cap and a plunger to be engaged with the gasket. The injector is made of a radiation-shielding tubular metal body covered with a plastic material having an exit at the bottom, the body being further provided with a lead glass window on its curved surface, a packing engaging the inside surface at one end of the body and a pair of wings having skid-proof ridges formed on at least one surface thereof, the wings being located at one end of the body. The body is so designed as to be shorter than the tubular portion of the syringe-type vial to be inserted therein, whereby the rear portion of the vial protrudes a little from the tubular body when the same is inserted into the body.
