  • Patent number: 4754662
Abstract: A transmission for an automotive vehicle includes a gearing mechanism, and a gear ratio of the gearing mechanism is shifted in accordance with an angular movement of a gear shift drum. The transmission also includes a reverse mechanism by which the transmission is shifted to a reverse state via a reverse gear shift device in accordance with the angular movement of the shift drum. A lock mechanism is provided for limiting the angular movement of the shift drum to prevent the transmission from being shifted to its reverse state. The gearing mechanism, the reverse mechanism and the reverse gear shift device constitute transmission mechanisms. These transmission mechanisms and the lock mechanism are disposed on opposite sides of the shift drum.

  • Patent number: 4632085
Abstract: A lubricating oil supply controller for a two-cycle engine is disclosed, wherein a lubricating oil is supplied to an intake air passage separately from fuel without mixing in advance the lubricating oil with fuel which is to be supplied to an engine. In this controller, a non-contacting type electrometer provided at a carburetor detects the fuel supply flow rate as a voltage. Thus detected voltage value is transmitted to a computer as a digital input through an analog-to-digital converter. This computer operates calculation by serving the input as a parameter and transmits a desired digital control signal to a step motor. The step motor is operated in response to the digital control signal and control a lubricating oil injection valve. In this way, the lubricating oil in its proper flow rate according to fuel supply flow rate is supplied to the engine.

  • Patent number: 4373601
Abstract: A power transmission device of a motorcycle comprising a main transmission case formed integrally with an engine crank case and accommodating a main transmission, and a sub-transmission case provided at the rear side of the main mission case. The sub-transmission case accommodates a sub-transmission which is drivingly connected to the main transmission and also to a rear wheel of the motorcycle through a transmission mechanism. The transmission mechanism and the sub transmission are disposed at opposite sides of the rear wheel. The sub-transmission case is composed of a case body and a cover for covering an opening of the case body. The opening is formed at a lateral side of the gears of the sub-transmission so that the gears are accessible and replaceable by removing the cover from the opening.
