  • Patent number: 6203510
Abstract: A compressing device for a pneumatic massager includes a bag body formed of a plurality of airtight cells with sealed portions for separating the airtight cells and adapted to inflate and contract the airtight cells by supplying and discharging compressed air to and from the bag body. At least one of the airtight cells is provided with a port for supplying and discharging compressed air. The bag body is provided with a communicating path allowing communication between the at least one airtight cell and the airtight cells lacking the port.

  • Patent number: 5333605
Abstract: A remedial device for hand insufficiency includes a glove trank having a foundation and allowing the palm of a hand to be applied thereto, the thumb and fingers of the hand to be fixed to the foundation with finger stoppers, and the wrist and forearm to be fixed to the foundation with an arm stopper; a plurality of first bag bodies accommodating finger-spreading air sacks and disposed on the front side of the foundation; a pair of second bag bodies accommodating joint-extending air sacks and disposed on the back side of the foundation; and a compressed air feed and discharge device for inflating and deflating the air sacks in the first and second bag bodies to effect a spreading of the fingers and an extension and dorsiflexion of hand joints. Each of the second bag bodies includes two bag pieces which are each formed of cloth cut into a foundation.

  • Patent number: 5259369
Abstract: A remedial device for hand insufficiency includes a device body having an obverse surface and a reverse surface, a compressed air supply source and an air supply-discharge hose interconnecting the device body and the compressed air supply source. Each of the obverse and reverse surfaces of the device body is provided thereon with a plurality of air sacks inflated and shrunken by the action of compressed air supplied and discharged for expanding and elongating the fingers and for elongating the wrist and arm joint. The air supply-discharge hose constitutes an air supply-discharge circuit provided with two branched circuits for compressed air which are disposed independently on an air supply-discharge side for the air sacks for elongating and expanding the fingers and on an air supply-discharge side for the air sacks for elongating the wrist and arm joint.

  • Patent number: 4962764
Abstract: A hemostatic unit for the determination of arteriovenous bloodstreams comprises a flat cuff (15) having a length sufficient to be wound by about one and a half turns around the region to be measured and being chargeable with compressed air, a pump (11, 21) for feeding said compressed air into said cuff (15), a pressure regulating valve (13, 23) for regulating the pressure of said compressed air, an air supply/discharge circuit for connecting an outlet (11a, 21a) of said pump (11, 21) to an air inlet (15b) of said cuff (15), and an air suction circuit branching out of said air supply/discharge circuit and connected to an inlet of said pump (11, 21). The unit further includes an electromagnetic valve (12, 22, 22') provided in said air/supply circuit and said air suction circuit with its given valve port being in open communication with the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4583255
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a massage arrangement of the pneumatic type comprising a mat body provided with a plurality of juxtaposed air chambers, said mat body being subjected over the entire or local surface to repeated rhythmic wave motions involving expansion and contraction by repeating a successon of feeding and discharging of compressed air into and from said air chambers, whereby effective and stable massage is applied not only to the waist and back regions but also the neck and shoulder regions.

  • Patent number: 4551874
Abstract: A pneumatic massage mat comprises a plurality of juxtaposed air chambers which are expanded and contracted in given sequence by sequentially feeding and bleeding air under pressure into and out of the respective chambers. The air space of each said air chamber is narrowed in the width direction at a substantially central portion and opposed end portions with respect to the longitudinal direction of the chamber such that these narrow portions are filled with a smaller volume of air than the remaining portions.
