  • Patent number: 4911110
Abstract: In a waste heat recovery system for a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine, including a water jacket of a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine in which a portion of the heat generating in the engine is absorbed by an engine cooling liquid, a first heat exchanger is provided for heat absorption from the exhaust gas in which the exhaust gas heat is absorbed thereby and a second heat exchanger is provided for heat recovery in which the waste heat is recovered from the engine cooling liquid carrying the above-mentioned heat. A second circuit for waste heat recovery from the engine includes the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger, both being connected to the water jacket in series. The second circuit is adapted to return the engine cooling liquid within the water jacket to the water jacket through the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger by a forced circulation force or a natural circulation force.

  • Patent number: 4735176
Abstract: A closed evaporative cooling system for an engine includes a water jacket having an opening formed through an upper wall of said engine, a condenser having an upper tank, a bottom plate and condenser tubes, a seat formed around said upside opening for fixing said bottom plate of said condenser thereon, a pressure regulating valve for regulating internal pressure of said upper tank, each of said tube has an upper end penetrating through the bottom wall of said upper tank and brazed or soldered thereto, and a lower end penetrating through said bottom plate and brazed or soldered thereto respectively, and the system further includes a damper pipe for damping the variation of internal pressure of said upper tank, having one end communicated with said upper tank of said condenser fixed on the upper part of said water jacket of said engine and another end communicated with said pressure regulating valve.

  • Patent number: 4426971
Abstract: A fuel injection rate limiting device for diesel engine aimed at improving engine performance on starting as well as in operation under overload through impartation of an increased tenacity, wherein a limiter means is provided to check a governor lever to thereby limit the fuel injection rate under the full-load condition but at the same time the governor lever is allowed to continue shifting within reason and gradually against a torque spring in such direction as to increase the fuel injection rate so that the fuel injection rate is gradually increased as the engine speed (rpm.) falls under overload. Moreover, on starting of the engine, the governor lever is caused to shift extensively against the torque spring as well as the starting spring in the fuel injection rate increasing direction for improvement of the engine's starting performance.
