  • Publication number: 20080191853
Abstract: A vehicle display apparatus for displaying vehicle information has a pulse generating device. This pulse generating device includes at least: control means comprising a control part and an output part; and an output terminal (output means). The control part receives data of number of wheel rotations (wheel speed data) from an ABS unit mounted on the vehicle via a multiplex communication line, and generates, based on the received data of number of wheel rotations, a pulse signal that can be used for a retrofitted navigation unit (information display device) that is mounted on the vehicle later. The pulse signal generated by the control means is outputted from the output terminal through a wire member to the navigation unit.

  • Patent number: 5903104
Abstract: A lighting system for a vehicle includes a meter lamp installed in the interior of the vehicle. The meter lamp backlights a dial board of a combination meter. The meter lamp is supplied with a voltage from a battery and lighted up when an ignition switch is closed. An interior lighting lamp is further installed in the interior of the vehicle. The interior lighting lamp is supplied with a voltage from the battery and lighted up when a lighting switch is closed. The system further includes a rheostat switch for adjusting illuminance of the meter lamp and the interior lighting lamp. When one of the meter and interior lighting lamps is lighted up, the rheostat switch adjusts the illuminance of that one of the meter and interior lighting lamps and, when the meter and interior lighting lamps are both lighted up, the rheostat switch simultaneously adjusts the illuminance of the meter and interior lighting lamps.
