  • Patent number: 5235148
Abstract: A heating apparatus such as a microwave oven in which thermal energy of high-temperature vapor generated by heating an object is detected by a pyroelectric element and a resulting detection signal is used to control (stop) a heat source such as a microwave source, etc. Among AC voltages generated by the pyroelectric element due to heat exchange of the pyroelectric element, a voltage of a polarity generated at the time of heat discharge (temperature decrease) of the pyroelectric element is selected through a circuit means. A voltage generated by heat exchange between air moving slowly in a heating chamber and the pyroelectric element caused by the rotation of a turntable or the like is eliminated by another circuit means. A control section controls the operation of the heat source by deciding an output signal of the pyroelectric element by comparing it with a detection level determined in accordance with a noise level for a predetermined length of time after the start of the heating operation.

  • Patent number: 5048400
Abstract: A pressure cooker with a humidity sensor or gas sensor, wherein a micro-computer reliably detects the point at which the internal pressure of a pressure cavity reaches a prescribed value by using this sensor by detecting the point at which a pressure control valve begins to operate and begins to discharge a large quantity of excess vapor or gas etc. from the pressure cavity to the outside, with a result which is equivalent to that of a direct measurement of the internal pressure with a pressure sensor, thereby attaining an accurate measurement without bringing the humidity or gas sensor into contact with the pressure cavity.

  • Patent number: 4870896
Abstract: A heating and cooking apparatus has a kneading trough detachably installed in a heating chamber of the apparatus and provided with a handle for easy carrying for a user. Since both the kneading trough and a portion to be engaged with the kneading trough in the heating chamber are formed square, the force in the rotating direction during the operation can be positively received by the corners, thereby enhancing the strength of the apparatus, without rattlings or wearing-out or disengagement of the engaging portion therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4673800
Abstract: A cooking apparatus comprising a rotary table disposed inside a heating chamber so as to mount food to be heated, and a motor which rotates the rotary table. The rotary table and the motor are integrally supported in a floating state by a resilient member, thereby allowing the food and the rotary table to vibrate or move vertically. This vertical vibration or movement is measured by employing a detector, and the weight of the food is measured from the output of the detector. The rotary table is provided with a biasing means interlocked with a door for regulating the height of the rotary table or stabilizing the same when the door is opened. In the case where the vibration of the rotary table is particularly detected, the rotary table is forced to vibrate by the action of the biasing means thereby allowing highly accurate measurement of the weight of the food.
