  • Patent number: 6849043
Abstract: A suction valve for an endoscope use includes a valve casing which is set up in the control portion of an endoscope and is connected with a suction side path having an opening as a suction inlet at the tip distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope and is also connected with a suction source side path connected with a negative pressure generation source, and a valve member which is fitted up in the valve casing to be allowed to make a slide motion inside thereof and is constituted such that it is able to switch the state in which the suction side path is cut off from the suction source side path to the state in which the suction side path is in communication with the suction source side path or vice versa in correspondence with the position of the valve member in the valve casing, wherein a groove is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the valve member in contact with the inside of the valve casing.

  • Patent number: 6346075
Abstract: A piston of an air and water supply valve in an endoscope comprises: a base cylinder; a water supply switching piston; and an air supply switching piston, which is inserted in the water supply switching piston. An air supply button functioning as a check valve is attached to the top end of the air supply switching piston, and air is supplied by slightly pressing the air supply button and water is supplied by deeply pressing the air supply button. If liquid flows back, the air supply button functions as the check valve to prevent the backflow from flowing into the base cylinder from the air supply switching piston.

  • Patent number: 4765213
Abstract: A crooked cut detecting system consisting fundamentally of a sensor for sensing irregularities developed on a cut end of a material from which a section was cut away by a sawing machine, an arithmetic means for deriving as a developed crookedness the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the above irregularities, and a comparator to compare the developed crookedness with a standard value defining a maximum allowable crookedness. The operations of the above fundamental constituents are computerized so as to be incorporated in the operation of an ordinary automatic sawing machine, whereby successive irregular cutting operations of an automatic sawing machine can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4694821
Abstract: An air feed control device for an endoscope for feeding air into a body cavity, comprises a regulating valve device including therein separate channels for air inflow and air outflow and a vent opening to the atmosphere. The air channels communicate with each other only via a hole which is disposed in the vicinity of the vent opening to the atmosphere so as to prevent the air resistance of the open vent from forcing air into the outlet air pipe and then into the body cavity.

  • Patent number: 4481187
Abstract: Disclosed is a clear liquid skin cosmetic composition (e.g., a lotion) in which one or more oily substances (such as oil-soluble perfumes, hormones and the like) are solubilized in water with the aid of a solubilizing agent comprising an 18.alpha.-glycyrrhizin (18.alpha.-glycyrrhizic acid sodium salt, potassium salt or ammonium salt) that is a novel compound derived from a conventional glycyrrhizin (i.e., any form of 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin extracted from licorice root) or a glycyrrhizin composition consisting of an 18.alpha.-glycyrrhizin and an 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin. This skin cosmetic composition is not irritative to the skin as contrasted with skin cosmetic compositions prepared by using a synthetic surface-active agent as the solubilizing agent, and is not subject to gelation in a slightly acidic to acidic pH range as contrasted with skin cosmetic compositions prepared by using an 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin alone as the solubilizing agent.

  • Patent number: 4424204
Abstract: Disclosed is a creamy or milky skin cosmetic composition which contains an emulsifying agent comprising an 18.alpha.-glycyrrhizin (18.alpha.-glycyrrhizic acid or its sodium, potassium or ammonium salt) that is a novel compound derived from a conventional glycyrrhizin (i.e., any form of 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin extracted from licorice root) or a glycyrrhizin composition consisting of an 18.alpha.-glycyrrhizin and an 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin. This skin cosmetic composition causes no irritation to the skin and hence has great safety for the skin, as contrasted with skin cosmetic compositions using synthetic emulsifiers. Moreover, it exhibits very good emulsion stability and storage stability and presents a very attractive appearance (fine texture and good gloss) owing to the unique effects of the 18.alpha.-glycyrrhizin. In particular, this skin cosmetic composition is characterized in that the difficulties inherent in the use of an emulsifying agent comprising an 18.beta.-glycyrrhizin alone (i.e.
