  • Patent number: 6094928
Abstract: An outdoor unit of a separate type air-conditioner, of which work efficiency of piping and maintenance accessed from the top is improved, is provided. At the same time, water is prevented from invading onto compressor-related electrical parts. An upper section of a housing is disclosed by removing a top plate of the housing, whereby a compressor room is disclosed. The compressor room is divided by a valve mounting plate into a lower chamber A containing a compressor together with nearby placed compressor-related electrical parts and an upper chamber B containing connecting valves that connect the compressor to a coolant pipe from an indoor unit. In the outdoor unit where the connecting valves are mounted on the valve mounting plate, an opening for work is provided on the valve mounting plate so that the compressor-related electrical parts are operated through this opening from the top. A surrounding wall rising upward is disposed on an edge of the opening.

  • Patent number: 6085537
Abstract: Without sacrificing the working efficiency of screw fixing of an outdoor unit main body and top plate, it is intended to eliminate inconvenience such as staying of water around the screws, corrosion of screws, invasion of water into the machine, and projection of screws to outside. On a top plate 2, when installing the machine body, an outside surface 2a inclined to the installation surface is formed, and by fixing an outdoor unit main body 1 and the top plate 2 with screws 3 on this outside surface 2a, rainwater flows out from the inclined outside surface 2a, and staying of water in the fixing portion of the screws 3 can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6062034
Abstract: The constitution has (a) an outdoor unit, and (b) an indoor unit including a wind circuit unit having an air suction port, a heat exchanger and blowing means, an air stream control unit having an air diffuser and air stream control means, and an electrical unit having an electric control device and an electric circuit. At least one of the wind circuit unit, the air stream control unit, and the electrical unit is formed separately, and the one unit and the remaining units of the plurality of units are mutually assembled integrally to form the indoor unit. The indoor unit composed of the wind circuit unit, air stream control unit, and electrical unit possesses a front surface having a continuous pattern. In this constitution, it is possible to obtain an indoor unit of an air conditioner having such effects as excellent appearance, small number of parts, enhanced ease of disassembling, excellent working efficiency in mounting, and excellent working efficiency in repair service.

  • Patent number: 6044657
Abstract: An outdoor unit main body is provided with handles optimum for conveying. Above the housing of the outdoor unit main body, a ceiling cover forming a part of the housing box is provided, and handles extended in the outer direction from the sides of the housing of the outdoor unit main body are provided at both side surfaces of the ceiling cover. Inside of the handle is a double structure consisting of right and left spaces by means of a partition wall, and the first space is a space for inserting the fingers of the carrier when conveying the outdoor unit main body, and a sufficient space for inserting up to the second joint of the fingers is assured. In the second space, plural ribs are disposed at specific intervals, and the leading end of each rib is formed in a semicircular shape so that the finger may settle in naturally, and also each rib has a specific angle for the ease of gripping.

  • Patent number: 5156018
Abstract: A unit-type air conditioner has an out-door portion which has an out-door heat-exchanger, an out-door fan opposing the out-door heat exchanger and an air guider having an orifice defining the passage of air from the out-door fan and the out-door heat exchanger. The center of the circle of a slinger ring attached to the out-door fan is slightly offset from the center of the circle of the orifice such that the circle of the slinger ring is offset from the center of the orifice in the direction in which the slinger ring scoops condensate water generated in the air conditioner. Part of the condensate water scooped by the slinger ring is sprayed to the out-door heat exchanger so as to be evaporated by the heat generated in the heat-exchanger, while the remaining part of the condensate water collides with the wall of the orifice so as to be returned to a drain pan. Consequently, undesirable springing of condensate wall from out-door air suction openings is avoided.

  • Patent number: 5043532
Abstract: A control box 6 of an air conditioner at the front part of the body has two compartments 6A, 6B parted by a partition plate 7. One compartment 6A is for receiving lead wires 2 which connect electric components with a compressor motor and a fan motor, and the other compartment 6B is for containing electric parts. The lead wires 2 are folded once in the compartment 6A. and again folded at the rear end of the partition plate 7. By such twice folding of the lead wires and cramping them at the rear end of the partition plate 7, damaging of electric components by the lead wires is prevented.
