  • Patent number: 5748340
Abstract: In an image reading apparatus arranged such that the supply of a drive clock signal CCD-CLK to a CCD solid-state imaging device is stopped during a standby period when an image is not read, during the standby period a high-level control signal CCDEN is generated by a clock-generating circuit, and is imparted to the CCD solid-state imaging device through an OR circuit and an inverter 14 so as to hold the drive clock signal CCD-CLK at a low level, thereby holding an output signal level of the CCD solid-state imaging device at a d.c. output bias level.

  • Patent number: 5371196
Abstract: Secretory immunoglobulin A preparations substantially not containing virus are produced by a process wherein secretory immunoglobulin A which might be contaminated with viruses is (1) heated about 60.degree. C. for about 10 hours, or (2) subjected to the reaction with tri-n-butyl phosphate and a surfactant and the heating as mentioned above, as liquidized form in an aqueous medium, and then polymerized matters are precipitated from the resulting solution by adding polyethyleneglycol thereto.

  • Patent number: 5204755
Abstract: An image recording apparatus comprising a line sensor for reading image data, a driver for outputting the image data read by the line sensor wherein the driver comprises an integrated circuit mounted on a circuit board, and a radiator system for dissipating heat generated by the driver, wherein the radiator system physically contacts the driver.

  • Patent number: 5189528
Abstract: An image reading apparatus with a plurality of line sensors comprises a reference level adjusting circuit for adjusting a level of a dark output outputted from one of the line sensors to a reference level, and a level difference adjusting circuit for progressively adjusting to a minimum a dark output level difference between the reference level adjusted line sensor and a second line sensor adjacent to the former sensor, a dark output level difference between the second line sensor and a third line sensor adjacent to the second line sensor, and so on. When three or more line sensors are used, a level of a dark output outputted from one of the three line sensors which is located at the center of a sensor array of the three sensors is adjusted to the reference level. Alternatively, a level of a dark output outputted from one of three line sensors which is located at one of the ends of a sensor array of the three line sensors is adjusted to the reference level.

  • Patent number: 4943003
Abstract: A control device for a heat pump system having a hot-water supply facility is disclosed which comprises an input device for inputting the cost of electricity for operating a heat pump and for inputting the cost of fuel for operating a boiler. A first sensor detects the temperature of the ambient air. A second sensor detects the moisture of the ambient air. A third sensor detects the temperature of the hot-water supply. An operation circuit selects an operation mode on the basis of the output signals received from the sensors. A comparison circuit selects the cheaper energy form based on cost data inputted from the input device in the heating air mode and in the hot-water supply mode. A control circuit selectively operates the heat pump or the boiler based on the result of the comparison performed by the comparison circuit.

  • Patent number: 4275321
Abstract: Drip-proof type electrical rotating machine having inlets and outlets for air flow formed below a rotating shaft supported by a frame. The inlets are formed on end brackets located at both sides of a stator core, and cooling fans rotating together with the rotating shaft are provided on a rotor in opposite to both of the end brackets. Air guides are provided between the inlet and the cooling fans, each air guide being provided with an air passing hole. When the air guide is assembled into the frame, the distance from the axis of the rotating shaft to an above edge of the air passing hole is shorter than the distance from the shaft axis to an lower edge of the air passing hole.
