  • Patent number: 5714965
Abstract: An active reception antenna with a coplanar waveguide having a high actual gain in the frequency band as broad as 100% or larger of the central frequency. The reception active antenna with a coplanar waveguide has: a pair of coplanar waveguide functioning as a feeder, the coplanar waveguide including a center conductor and two ground conductors printed on one surface of a dielectric film; and an antenna element conductor connected to the coplanar waveguide, the antenna element conductor being printed on the surface of the dielectric film, wherein the feed points of the antenna element conductor are disposed near the ends of the feeder, an active circuit including a field effect transistor is mounted between the feed points and the ends of the feeder, the impedance of the antenna element conductor and the feeder is matched together, and a signal received by the antenna element conductor is amplified and supplied to the feeder.

  • Patent number: 5040398
Abstract: A rolling roll comprises a metal rolling roll body, a ceramic sleeve into which the roll body is inserted with a gap therebetween, thereby providing a working surface of ceramics at an outer periphery thereof, fasteners provided on the roll body at both sides of the sleeve for pressing the side faces of the sleeve thereby to fix the sleeve to the roll body, and at least one spacer having a larger coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the roll body and inserted between the sleeve and the fastener so that the sleeve is axially pressed by the fastener to fix the sleeve to the roll body.

  • Patent number: 4584924
Abstract: A silencer for the barrel of a firearm comprises a sheath defining an interior space having open opposite ends. The sheath has a longitudinal axis. A plurality of partitioned plates are connected to the sheath and extend across the interior space thereof. Each partition plate has an opening therethrough of a size which is wider than a caliber of the firearm barrel and which lies in a plane which is inclined at an acute angle with respect to the axis. Each partition plate, in a direction along the axis, is rotated around the axis by a selected angle with respect to a previous partition plate to produce a convoluted path for gases discharged from the gun barrel. The first partition plate in the sheath adjacent a firearm valve which is connected to one open end of the sheath, defines an initial expansion chamber for the gases.

  • Patent number: 4478704
Abstract: The gas detection offered by the present invention is characterized by the detection of CO as distinct from H.sub.2. The optimum structure of the device therefor has an electrolytic cell wherein the electrode surfaces of a working electrode, a counter electrode and a reference electrode are kept in contact with electrolyte and wherein the open sides at both ends of the vessel containing the electrolyte are sealed by the working electrode, the counter electrode and the reference electrode; means for connecting between the working electrode and the counter electrode and means for applying a predetermined a voltage between the working electrode and the reference electrode, wherein sensitivity of the working electrode to carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas is smaller than that of the reference electrode.
