  • Patent number: 5473034
Abstract: A method for producing an ester of a protein by an esterification reaction of an aqueous solution, fine powder or suspension of a protein having free carboxyl groups with an excess amount of polyfunctional alcohol to esterify the protein; a method for producing a protein-synthetic polymer conjugate from said ester by utilizing a hydroxyl or unsaturated group of a polyfunctional alcohol present in the esterified portion of the protein; and a protein-synthetic polymer conjugate produced thereby.

  • Patent number: 5201209
Abstract: Apparatus for pulling metal extruded from an extrusion machine has a pair of carriers mounted on one side and below the surface of a runout table. Each carrier moves on a rail parallel to the table. One carrier in an operative position does not interfere with the other in a retracted position when they pass each other. Production efficiency is improved by using the carriers alternately. With the rails below the level of the table surface, space above the runout table can accommodate apparatus to cool the extruded metal.

  • Patent number: 5009188
Abstract: In a water tank apparatus, an attached water tank made of a transparent material and having an open upper end is attached to a peripheral wall of a lower portion of a gas-tight water tank body made of a transparent material, which is provided with a decompression unit for decompressing a space within the water tank body, so that the attached water tank communicates with the water tank body. Operation due to the decompression unit enables a water level within the water tank body is raised to a predetermined level, while a water level within the attached water tank is located below the water level within the water tank body. Thus, an enjoyer can enjoy fishes and so on within the attached water tank from the above, or can directly take an action such as feeding or the like. Further, a tunnel made of a transparent material is provided at and within a lower portion of the water tank body.
