Abstract: In a main area of a display device, buttons and a map display area where a map is scrolled are provided. A cursor can be moved to an arbitrary position of the main area according to directional input received from an input device. When a decision input is performed with the input device when the cursor points to each button, processing assigned to the button to which the cursor points is performed. When a user inputs a direction and a special input button is not selected, the cursor is moved throughout the main area. When the user inputs a direction while the special input button is selected, the cursor is moved only within the map display area and the map is scrolled as required.

Abstract: A document display method displays information quickly and properly by receiving a description file in which multiple pages forming the documents are defined. The method includes receiving, from a server, a separate file defined in a first page to be displayed first in the received description file. The method further includes analyzing the first page of the received description file to display the first page by using the received separate file. The method further includes analyzing a second page of the description file and receiving a separate file defined in the second page, from the server, after receiving all of the separate files defined in the first page.

Abstract: Display control improves performance and operability of information,processing apparatuses. Multi-link data referred to in a BODY part is defined in advance in a HEAD part of a NML document. By parsing the HEAD part, the multi-link data is stored in advance in a client system as a multi-link list. In parsing the BODY part, buttons and the multi-link list stored in the client system are linked to one another by a reference name described on an attribute of a button to be displayed. When a viewer detects a selecting operation of a button, a pop-up menu having link buttons is displayed on the basis of the multi-link list linked to the button without displaying a new page.

Abstract: A client displays, on a television monitor, a web page on which a push-button (download button) having a string “DOWNLOAD” is located in accordance with a specification based on tags defined within markup text received from a server. When the download button is pressed by a user, data in the server specified by a URL is received. Then, the received data is stored in a storing area of the client, which is specified by a storing directory path.
