Abstract: The apparatus for determining coordinates is used as a pointing device or a mouse device in a personal computer system. The present apparatus comprises plural speed sensors and an operating means such as a CPU. When the speed sensors are moved by an operator, each of the speed sensors detects each of accelerations thereof in predetermined axis directions. The detected accelerations of the speed sensors are converted into moving distances representative of the coordinates through a calculation of the operating means. By only holding and moving the present apparatus by an operator, it is possible to input the coordinates with ease and with accuracy because there is no need to provide a heavy metal ball of the conventional mechanical mouse device and a transparent board of the conventional optical mouse device.

Abstract: An electromagnetic motor constituted by a movable member, a flexible support member, a first fixed magnetic pole, and a second fixed magnetic pole. The movable member is magnetized to form N and S poles on opposing surfaces. One end of the flexible support member is connected to the movable member, and the other end thereof is connected to a base. The first fixed magnetic pole is so arranged as to apply a magnetic force in a direction parallel to the N and S poles of the movable member. The second fixed magnetic pole is so arranged as to apply a magnetic force in a direction perpendicular to the N and S poles of the movable member.

Abstract: In an automatic record disk player, various information as the disk size, the position of the pickup arm, and various operation commands, is supplied as digital signals to a logic circuit, in which logical operations are carried out to control the pickup arm according to a select operation sequence. Manual operation is compatible with the automatic operation, and interruption or discontinuation of play can be achieved at any moment.

Abstract: In a linear tracking pickup arm type automatic record player, the position of the pickup arm is opto-electrically detected by the use of a multi-window scale and a photo-coupler unit, and the pre-assigned position signals stored in a memory are compared with the detected position signal to control the movement of the pickup arm. Therefore, the reproduction and the precisely repeated reproduction of any part of a record disk are made possible.
