  • Patent number: 6169337
Abstract: The electric power breaker for breaking the electric power is placed on the midpoint of the electric power line from the battery power supply, and the electric power line is extracted from the electric power breaker. In addition, the electric power supply terminal is placed on the midpoint on the electric power line, from which the electric power is supplied to the individual electric load. The electric power distribution and the electric power supply operation to the electric loads are controlled by the multiplex communication. A semiconductor device having a self protection function is used as the switching device for supplying the electric power. The electric power line covered by the electric conductive material is arranged in a loop topology so as to start from the connection point to the battery and pass through the designated positions in the vehicle and return to the battery.

  • Patent number: 6049139
Abstract: In order to detect abnormality of a cable, the cable has an electrical conduction line surrounding a power supply line, an electric potential of the electrical conduction line is controlled by a controller, and the abnormality of the cable is judged by detecting the inability of the controller not to control the electric potential of the electrical conduction line in case of contact by the electrical conduction line with the ground or the power supply line. Damage to the power supply line from the accident is prevented by previously detecting the accident of the cable, thereby, the reliability of the cable is highly improved.

  • Patent number: 6020811
Abstract: A multiplexing apparatus multiplexes between processing units and a battery unit of a vehicle which are connected to one another by wire harnesses, by grouping a variety of on-board controlled objects into a plurality of neighboring controlled objects and controlling each of respective processing units. The wire harness has electric conductors of which the outer peripheral portion are covered with a first insulating layer, an electric conductivity layer which covers the electric conductors, a second insulating the peripheral portion of the electric layer which covers conductivity layer, a circuit for applying an electric potential to the electric conductivity layer, and a monitor for the electric potential of the electric conductivity layer.

  • Patent number: 5886419
Abstract: A power supply system for a car in which a first group of loads is selected by a key switch and fed power via a fuse, while a second parallel connected group of loads is fed power without a fuse via respective ones of control units coupled to transmission lines for controlling each of the second group of loads.

  • Patent number: 5825097
Abstract: An apparatus for driving electrical loads of a vehicle comprising load switches. Each of the load switches directs a start or a stop of each of the electrical loads. A memory stores a power feeding increase rate for a corresponding one of the electrical loads at a state transition of each of the load switches from an OFF to an ON state. A pair of transistors feeds power to the corresponding one of the electrical loads from a battery on receiving a load driving signal. A central process unit sends the load driving signal to the pair of transistors so that power is fed to the corresponding one of the electrical loads with a power feeding increase rate at the state transition of one of the load switch from an OFF state to an ON state. Thus, because the power fed to the electrical load gradually increases upon starting of the electrical load, AC power does not rapidly increase the power generation, and this prevents engine speed from rapidly increasing.
