  • Patent number: 7117253
Abstract: An information management system records in a server contents that need not be updated for a fixed time-period. The system accesses desired contents in a local device or the server storing the contents. A request for information is made from an information browsing unit to a local request relaying unit which receives the request and analyzes the request contents. The local request relaying unit acquires a server-side control file managed by the server to which the request is directed and also acquires a local-side control file from a duplicate information storing unit. Confirmation is made as to whether the latest version of the requested information exists in the duplicate information storing unit. If the latest version of the requested information exists in the duplicate information storing unit, the requested information is fetched from the duplicate information storing unit; otherwise the information is fetched from the server computer.

  • Patent number: 6871234
Abstract: In an information distribution control system, a sync control server adds a time stamp to the stream information JS capable of being reproduced in real time and adds the sync time information to the storage-type information JT, so that the stream information JS and the storage-type information JT are reproduced in temporal synchronism with each other based on the time stamp and the sync time information in a plurality of clients.

  • Patent number: 6633911
Abstract: An information distribution apparatus generates streaming packets, that contain information which can be reproduced in real time, to be distributed to a plurality of receiving apparatuses. A distribution control unit inquires the receiving apparatuses, before starting the distribution, to decide whether they would like to accept the streaming packets. An accumulation control unit receives the replies from the receiving apparatuses and accumulates the number of replies. The distribution control unit starts or stops the distribution of the information on the basis of the number of replies accumulated in the accumulation control unit.

  • Publication number: 20030061370
Abstract: Contents on a server that need not be updated for a fixed period of time are recorded directly in a medium, and desired contents in a local device can be accessed by the same operation procedure as that for accessing the server storing the contents. When a request to acquire delivery information is made from information browsing unit with respect to a local proxy server, the local proxy server analyzes the request, and acquires a server-side control file managed by a server with respect to which 10 the request has been made, and a local-side control file in duplicate information storing unit. If corresponding information exists in the duplicate information storing means and also if the information has the latest version number, the information is fetched from the duplicate information storing unit; otherwise the delivery information is fetched from a server computer.
