Abstract: A drive control apparatus receives an instruction from an upper unit, to mount a predetermined medium onto a predetermined drive unit. If a combination of the predetermined medium and the predetermined drive unit is determined as inappropriate, the drive control unit replies to the upper unit that the predetermined drive unit cannot be used. A combination of a medium and a drive is appropriate if both, the medium and the drive are suitable for any one of encrypted and unencrypted data.

Abstract: A data information management system for 2D/3D model data which unwarily manages design information in the form of bulk data. The system allows for real time information transmission of device/component data and eases data cooperation between the design side and the manufacturing side. The unitary management of the management information of model data is performed by a common metaserver. A plurality of bulk servers respectively maintain, for example according to category, the individual model data which has been designed. Workstations, which access design information, acquire management information of model data from the metaserver. Based on the management information, the workstations access the appropriate bulk server which maintains the required model data. During implementing/updating of the model data, management information is registered by the metaserver, and model data is stored in the bulk servers. The metaserver, bulk servers, and workstations perform communication via a WAN or LAN network.

Abstract: A part arrangement processing device has apparatus for creating a design parts list indicating necessary parts for a product, in accordance with the results of design; apparatus for creating a production parts list indicating parts for arrangements for manufacture of the product, in accordance with the design parts list; apparatus for storing the design parts list and the production parts list; apparatus for recomposing a hierarchical relationship among parts in the production parts list; and apparatus for establishing a correspondence between part numbers in the design part list and part numbers in the production parts list subjected to recomposition, thereby facilitating part data exchange between the design section and the production section.
