  • Patent number: 6851638
Abstract: A rotation support structure for a dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a spool shaft, and fluid bearings. The spool shaft is disposed on an inner circumferential side of the reel unit and can rotate relative to the reel unit. The fluid bearings have a plurality of grooves for forming a fluid lubricant film between the reel unit and the spool shaft. The rotation support structure is provided for a high-speed rotation operation of a dual-bearing reel, with which a reduction of the rotation performance during high-speed rotation can be successfully suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20040053877
Abstract: Whether recombinant Sendai virus (SeV) vector can be used for transporting genes into skeletal muscle was examined using LacZ reporter gene and insulin-like growth factor gene. As a result, transgene expression continued at longest for 1 month after the injection. Compared with control, the transduction of the insulin-like growth factor gene caused a significant increase in regenerated fibers and splitting myofibers, i.e., an index of hypertrophy. Furthermore, the total number or myofibers increased by the gene. Thus, Paramyxovirus vectors, including Sendai virus, were shown to achieve a high-level expression of transgenes in skeletal muscle; and the high potential of the transduction of an insulin-like growth factor gene using a Paramyxovirus vector in treating neuromuscular disorders was indicated.

  • Patent number: 6638368
Abstract: The non-oriented electrical steel sheet having the following chemical composition: C: 0.01% or less, Si: 2.5% or less, Mn: 2% or less, Al: 1 to 5%, Si+Al+0.5×Mn: 2.5 to 5%, with a sheet thickness of 0.1 to 0.4 mm, an average grain diameter of 50 to 180 &mgr;m and a Vickers hardness of 130 to 210. The steel sheet is excellent in workability such as punchability and interlocking performance for forming it into cores for motors and also has a lower iron loss and higher magnetic flux density, and thus when used as a core in a motor, achieves the high a motor efficiency. The steel sheet is particularly suitable as a material for cores in inverter-controlled motors.

  • Publication number: 20030010585
Abstract: A braking member having a friction surface includes a matrix and a nickel-tungsten alloy layer disposed between the matrix and the friction surface. The nickel-tungsten alloy layer may form the friction surface. The braking member may include an additional nickel or copper layer, and such a layer may be disposed between the nickel-tungsten alloy layer and the matrix. A further metal layer may be disposed between the nickel-tungsten alloy layer and the friction surface, and the further metal layer may form the friction surface.

  • Patent number: 5691017
Abstract: A casing for storing an airbag of an airbag restraint system for an automobile vehicle. The casing is formed of a material comprising (a) a thermoplastic elastomer composition in an amount of 100 parts by weight, the thermoplastic elastomer composition being prepared by a process including mixing 10 to 50 parts by weight of a polyolefine resin with 100 parts by weight of an olefine copolymer rubber to obtain a mixture, dynamically heat-treating the mixture in the presence of an organic peroxide, and then adding 5 to 50 parts by weight of a mineral oil relative to 100 parts by weight of the dynamically heat-treated mixture, the olefine copolymer rubber having a Mooney viscosity (ML.sub.1+4, 100.degree. C.) ranging from 50 to 100; (b) a random copolymer resin in an amount of 20 to 50 parts by weight, containing propylene and at least one kind of 1-olefine other than propylene and having a Melt Flow Rate (230.degree. C.
