Abstract: An optical fiber protective tube is designed for the passage of an optical fiber element (having a primary coating of an ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable) resin or the like formed on an outer periphery of a bare fiber) therethrough so as to protect the optical fiber element. The optical fiber protective tube includes a resin tube made of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and a layer of reinforcing fiber and a resin covering which are provided on an outer periphery of the resin tube.
