  • Patent number: 5115403
Abstract: A workability detection method for a workpiece consisting of the steps of cutting a workpiece, based on specified cutting conditions, detecting the cutting resistance during the cutting operation, or the cutting time or the amount of tool wear to make a cut up to a specified position of the workpiece, or the feeding position of the cutting tool on a workpiece or the amount of processing of the cutting tool after a specified cutting time and comparing the detected data with corresponding data which is stored in a data base.

  • Patent number: 4289053
Abstract: A deviation detecting apparatus for a bandsaw blade in a bandsaw machine has an arm pivotally mounted at a location adjacent to the linear path of travel of the blade through the cutting zone. The arm is yieldably urged into slidable contact with one side of the blade, and is thus pivotally movable in response to lateral deviations of the blade. A control device is responsive to pivotal movement of the arm. The control device generates a control signal indicative of blade deviations.

  • Patent number: 4222295
Abstract: The present invention relates to a horizontal bandsaw machine comprising a bandsaw blade for cutting a workpiece in a cutting zone of the horizontal bandsaw machine, a saw-guide for guiding the bandsaw, a lubricating member located above a back edge of the bandsaw blade, and an elongate plate for contacting the workpiece, and at least aperture for applying lubricant to the back edge of the bandsaw blade. The saw-guide is located at opposite sides of the cutting zone and the elongate plate is located at a side of the bandsaw blade. The aperture for applying lubricant to the back edge of the bandsaw blade is provided at an underside of the lubricating member so as to be aligned in a line in a direction along a length of the bandsaw blade.
