Patent number: 7184606Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, the head top of a subject is detected, and the positions of a camera and a mirror are adjusted so that the coordinates of the detected head top coincide with the coordinates of a reference head top. When it is determined that the coordinates coincide with each other, the image size of a face of the subject is detected, and the zoom of the camera is controlled so that the detected image size and a reference image size coincide with each other. When it is determined that the image size of the face and the reference image size coincide, the positions of the camera and the mirror are adjusted again so that the coordinates of the head top of the subject and the coordinates of the reference head top coincide with each other.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2002Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Mitsuyoshi Shindo, Hiroaki Takano, Toshiaki Nakanishi

Publication number: 20010003190Abstract: With conventional printing services it is too complex to place an order for prints, which has been a burden on users. In a printing system and a method thereof, a server means connected to a network, for retaining image data supplied through the above network, printing means connected to the network and installed in a plurality, for printing images based on the image data appointed by means of external operations and retrieved from the server means through the network, and image data transferring means connected to the network, for transferring the image data to the server means through the network are provided. Thereby, is now possible to have images printed based on image data retained in the server means with the use of a desired printing means of the plurality of printing means.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2000Publication date: June 7, 2001Applicant: Sony CorporationInventors: Mitsuyoshi Shindo, Yorihiko Sakai, Hiroshi Ashikawa

Patent number: 6118477Abstract: In a picture reading apparatus, in the pre-scan, an approach is employed to control a CCD line sensor 5 and a film carrying roller 103 so that plural pictures recorded on an optical film 1 are read at a predetermined sampling rate in order from the latest frame to generate frame position data indicating position of left and right ends of frame, etc. Further, in the main scan, an approach is employed such that, in controlling the CCD line sensor 5 and a film carrier 100 so that plural pictures recorded on the optical film are read at a sampling rate higher than the predetermined sampling rate in order from the oldest frame, the reading start and end timings of the CCD line sensor 5 are controlled on the basis of frame position data obtained by the pre-scan. As a result, in this picture reading apparatus, it is possible to precisely obtain picture data of picture of frame in the state where no positional shift takes place.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1999Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Masahide Maruyama, Mitsuyoshi Shindo, Kiyosuke Suzuki, Tomohiro Maekawa, Hideki Wanami

Patent number: 5148187Abstract: A color printer is provided in which a paper sheet is wrapped about a rotatable platen and three colors are printed on the sheet, to obtain an image, by a thermal head and a color ribbon during three rotations of the platen. In a paper feeding device for the printer, a sheet of paper is fed by a feeding roller, from the bottom of a stack of paper sheets in a paper tray through, a feeding guide to the platen. The tray has an opening in its bottom plate so as to expose the lowermost paper sheet stored therein. The feeding roller is provided under the tray and lifts up toward the opening of the tray so as to come in engagement with the lowermost paper sheet, the feeding roller rotating to feed it to the platen. The width of the platen is less than that of the sheet and the circumference thereof is less than the length of the sheet. Therefore, when the sheet is wrapped about the platen, it extends laterally outward from the ends thereof, and its ends overlap.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1988Date of Patent: September 15, 1992Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Katsuhisa Ono, Yasuhito Eguchi, Mitsuyoshi Shindo, Hiroshi Katsuno
